8.1 x 7.1 x 4.5 cm. A fine cluster of sharp fluorite crystals from the new find at the Okarusu, with blushes and phantoms of purple and scarlet in the interiors. Crystals to 1.5 cm.
12.0 x 9.0 x 7.5 cm. Green fluorite crystals beautifully isolated on the matrix. They measure to 3 cm across, with most in the range of 2 cm.
12.4 x 9.4 x 7.2 cm. Here is a large fluorite cluster of the "traditional" Okarusu hues - green with highlights of purple. The crystals here measure to 1.5 cm on edge.
14.4 x 8.5 x 5.8 cm. A large, impressive, cabinet-sized cluster of BIG octahedra of fluorite, translucent, with subtle, gorgeous highlights of mint/sea-foam blue-green that does NOT come out in the pic, but is striking and unique in person , particularly under good light. Very unusual and pretty color, with silky luster from thousands of tiny micro-faces. These are very large crystals, up to 4 cm along the edge.
17.1 x 11.4 x 5.9 cm. From the now mined-out finds that caused such excitement a few years back - a LARGE cluster of deep purple octahedra of fluorite, including a couple of HUGE ones (for this find) one of which measures 4 cm along the edge! Just a bit of quartz matrix holds this large, impressive showpiece together - it is almost all crystal! A big, impressive, striking fluorite specimen!
10.9 x 10.5 x 3.9 cm. The surface of this large specimen of fluorite from China has a unique look to it that makes it really special - a sort of opaque bright pea-green, due to tiny fractures in the surface. These are huge octahedral crystals, the largest measuring over 8 cm from tip to tip!
4.9 x 2.6 x 2.4 cm. A tan/yellow cube of fluorite sits atop a column of white calcite - an old-timer from England. The fluorite measures 1.5 cm and has a good display face, with the contact in back.
11.9 x 9.5 x 5.2 cm. A large and extremely complex and interesting specimen of fluorite from Naica. The surface is essentially a myriad of cubic forms and variations, particularly cubes with beveled edges. You can see a green glow from the center of the specimen, where the color is isolated. The fluorite appears to have grown in two generations, with the green forming first, and then the thick layer of colorless fluorite forming on top of it, culminating in this complex surface. A really cool and unique specimen!
16.5 x 11.2 x 1.9 cm. Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of them was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. Now, these are all mined out! While this is not a top specimen - the crystals are flattish and have whitish internal fracturing in places - it is large, and there is a lot of pink here! The crystals measure to about 1.2 cm across.
6.5 x 5.5 x 3.9 cm. A fantastic Dal’negorsk fluorite, a cube of intense clarity and superb bright green color, perched on matrix next to two smaller crystals. The fluorite measures 2.3 cm along the edge. These clear green fluorites from Dal’negorsk, like the water-clear ones, are VERY highly regarded by collectors. It came from the collection of Peter Bancroft, author of Gem & Crystal Treasures.
14.4 x 12.9 x 6.9 cm. A MAJOR specimen from this shocking find of fabulous purple botryoidal fluorite, in China! They look like big purple turtles! Botryoidal fluorites have always been rare from anywhere, and these gorgeous purple ones, sometime reaching prodigious size (such as this one), just blew the mineral collecting world away. I was lucky to get some of the very best ones.
12.1 x 11.1 x 6.4 cm. This glowing green octahedral crystal of fluorite measures 9 CENTIMETERS along the edge! It is intergrown with several smaller crystals. The display face is complete, with the back side of the specimen being a flat natural matrix contact where the specimen was removed. Really impressive!
9.9 x 6.6 x 4.4 cm. A large cluster of over a dozen glass-clear fluorite crystals, with a light green hue, measuring to 2.5 cm. The crystals have clear windows framed by pretty frosted bevels. The clarity is much greater in person than the pic shows!
7.8 x 5.9 x 2.9 cm. The recent new finds at the Okarusu have produced fluorites in so many interesting colors compared to the past. Here is a very unusual one combining yellow and purple! The sharp crystals measure to 2 cm along the edge, and are in excellent condition.
16.1 x 12.0 x 2.7 cm. A plate of translucent green crystals of fluorite with unusual little purple highlights. There is a crystal of over 4 cm here, but most are in the range of around 2 to 3 centimeters.
