8.3 x 5.4 x 4.8 cm. A literally glowing stalactite that backlights incredibly in person with the most intense color, and deep hue, around the edges. It is a 3-dimensional, complete-all-around stalactite that is unique in my lot, and overall my favorite piece of this size range.
2.7 x 1.9 x 1.9 cm. A GORGEOUS, translucent, 2-cm fluorite ball on a natural stalk! Complete all around save one slightly indented contact/constrained growth area on the upper-left side. Most of these were BIG, and I have gotten only a few thumbnail sized examples.
7.1 x 5.2 x 2.5 cm. Beautiful cluster snaking across matrix, 2.5 cm across on the "head" to the left. This fluorite has a slight coating of secondary fluorite or quartz which gives it a slight sparkle, compared to others.
6.1 x 4.3 x 3.0 cm. A gorgeous specimen with the most intense color, and organic-looking aesthetics. It is complete on the display face, contacted only at the edges to the sides - the top ball is complete around to the matrix in back.
8.1 x 5.7 x 4.7 cm. This piece may be destined for carving rough; it’s so beautiful and thick! The "ball" is complete through about 120 degrees, though it gives the illusion of a spherical form as you can see, when stood upright.
7.7 x 6.4 x 4.8 cm. A thick hemispherical fluorite, with great color. It is a little wobbly at the edges, but that is natural contact, not damage.
8.3 x 6.7 x 3.5 cm. A thick hemispherical fluorite, with great color. It is a little wobbly at the edges, but that is natural contact, not damage.
6.0 x 6.0 x 5.8 cm. One of the more dramatic specimens, I call the "mushroom" for its appearance: a complete-all-around purple cap perched on matrix. GORGEOUS translucent color when backlit, like grape juice! For whatever reasons, this piece transmits light more clearly than others and so has a richer intensity. The piece is complete on 3 sides, if contacted on the lower periphery.
3.3 x 2.4 x 2.0 cm. A GORGEOUS, translucent, 2.2-cm fluorite ball on matrix! Complete all around so I could not imagine a better thumbnail example of this new style for botryoidal purple fluorite. Most of these were BIG, and I have gotten only a few thumbnail sized examples.
29.2 x 23.0 x 15.0 cm. This is the biggest specimen I have yet seen, a pristine and complete PAIR of fluorites, grown together and merged in the middle. They have beautiful color and grape-juice color when lit at the edges, but are so incredibly thick they are not translucent per se. Still, the surface color alone is nice! Weight is...31 pounds! 31 pounds of SOLID, CARVING-GRADE fluorite under a double-dome, and complete all around. Just an incredible piece, really, when you think about it.
19.9 x 15.9 x 4.4 cm. These are ALL MINED OUT now, folks! We were lucky to have a relationship that allowed us access to the good specimens of this material. Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. This is a HUGE plate with octahedrons to 2.5 cm across the middle!
6.5 x 5.7 x 1.8 cm. A plate of matrix-free fluorite from the new finds at the Okarusu, combining green hues with isolated areas of purple. Crystals to 1.5 cm.
3.4 x 2.9 x 2.3 cm. An octahedral crystal of fluorite from the classic Silverton mining area of Colorado - of very high quality. It is translucent to transparent, with a silky luster and pretty light pastel green color. The front of the crystal is complete, with the back being the contact where the crystal was removed from the matrix. An old specimen, very hard to obtain now.
13.0 x 9.2 x 5.4 cm. A large, 6.0 cm, pristine, frosted, green fluorite octahedron aesthetically rests on a CABINET plate of needle quartz along with two, smaller, intergrown fluorite crystals. This SHOWY and EXCELLENT specimen is from the famous William Wise Mine in New Hampshire. Some of the best American green fluorites. Ex. George Elling Collection.
2.5 x 2.5 x 1.9 cm. A lustrous, limpid fluorite crystal with beautiful pastel-green color zoning and nicely perched on casted calcite from the Julcani District of Peru. An excellent thumbnail from the Sam Nasser TN Collection.
