11.2 x 7.6 x 3.4 cm. A RARE combination piece featuring several GEMMY pink apatites (to 2 cm) on a bed of clear fluorite, with accenting muscovite. The apatite/muscovite association is of course very common, but the rich presence of the beautiful beveled (modified cuboctahedral) crystals makes this piece unique!
3.6 x 2.7 x 1.9 cm. Botryoidal fluorites have always been highly appreciated by collectors, because they are pretty and rare. The best known ones are probably the "fried-egg" ones from Nasik, India. These delightful PURPLE specimens were discovered in China during the past year. The one is in superb condition, and complete, with a fine translucent purple color.
12.9 x 10.4 x 4.9 cm. This large plate of fluorite is from a new find at the Okarusu Mine in Namibia! The crystals from this find came in a variety of colors. This specimen has crystals of deep violet color. They are very sharp and lustrous!
12.8 x 9.5 x 5.4 cm. This fluorite consists of these large, fabulous, translucent octahedrons of green fluorite (there are two intergrown, 4-cm crystals on this specimen) sitting on an earlier generation of dark purplish gray fluorite. So there is this wonderful contrast between the two generations of fluorite.
16.3 x 11.9 x 5.3 cm. A BIG specimen from the new find at the Okarusu, richly covered with hundreds of lustrous, deep purple crystals! It has a complex matrix form which, despite the contact points, adds dimensionality to the specimen.
7.9 x 6.9 x 3.9 cm. A cluster of superb, glassy green crystals anchored by a spectacular 2.5-cm crystal that is glass-clear, with beautiful bevels.
7.3 x 5.3 x 4.2 cm. A super-complex crystal of green fluorite that looks like dozens of stacked cubes. It was shot in strong light to show off the nice green glow from within. Sugary quartz decorates some of the "terraces" like snow.
11.4 x 6.5 x 3.5 cm. Two mounds of yellow fluorite that have formed hundreds of blocky euhedral forms on the surface, like a pile of little blocks. They are bright yellow on top grading to a honey-yellow towards the bottom. Shot under strong like to bring out the nice glow. This is very uncommon material!
5.7 x 4.5 x 4.2 cm. An old-time and showy specimen of translucent, purple, lightly frosted fluorite cubes on matrix covered with splendent, black galena crystals from the less well-known Rodderup Fell Mine at Alston Moor, England. The mine closed in 1948 and is one of the few mines in the area, that produced fine fluorite specimens. Moderate purple and yellow fluorescence. Ex. George Elling Collection.
2.5 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm. A SUPERB and AESTHETIC Erongo Mountains thumbnail of zoned emerald-green fluorite cubes to 1.2 cm with dark purple edges and corners beautifully set in etched, off-white feldspar crystals. EXCELLENT material from the stock of dealer/collector Charlie Key. The fluorites are pristine.
This specimen is "elegant" in every sense. It features a slender but super quality aqua, 3.5 cm long, perched gently on a sharply angled microcline crystal decorated with schorl and fluorite. Just a really fine piece that stands out from the crowd of Erongo pieces! 4.1 x 3.8 x 2.8 cm
The pic pretty much says it all...this is one of the most extremely sculptural combos I have seen, and althoug a slender spray, is dramatic beyond its size. Repaired (the fluorite attachment) 4.8 x 3.4 x 2.4 cm
5.4 x 4.4 x 4.1 cm. From the NEW finds at this classic old mine - a gorgeous specimen of transparent fluuorite crystals with frosted bevels. The side faces are like clear glass windows into the super-transparent interior, with the bevels "framing" them. The sphalerite and pyrite accent the crystals beautifully. This is a really aesthetic and nicely-trimmed one, with the crystals nestled together in a recess in the matrix.
4.0 x 3.7 x 2.2 cm. A showy and excellent Erongo Mountains specimen of a pristine, 2.6 cm, zoned fluorite cube with an emerald-green center and purple faces, corners and edges nicely surrounded by tan feldspar matrix.
5.1 x 3.4 x 3.2 cm. A cluster of glass-clear cubes of light green fluorite (the color does not come through well in the photos) from China. The largest crystal measures 2 cm. These are very difficult to photograph - they are much more impressive in person, very much like the light green ones from Russia in clarity.
