This huge specimen is about sheer COLOR. It is INTENSELY colored, like the above, due to the thickness of the piece in part. It is a large specimen that displays dramatically, and features octos to 4 cm. It is in remarkably pristine condition on teh display face itself, and even wrapping around the sides of the crystallized par twhich sits on massive fluorite below. The back is alos complete with the exception that there is a large crystal showing contacting in the middle of the backside. Next to it, however, is a conjoined pair of intergrown octos measuring 8 cm across! So the back is actually pretty impressive as well. It is impossible to show this in photos, as well as it displays so impactfully in person. I thought this to be, if you like size, one of the most dramatic of the find.
This is a gorgeous, solid plate of gemmy octos to 2.3 cm, with big crystals both on top and on the bottom so that it can be displayed in several angles.
A killer miniature with exceptionally gemmy crystals, in cluster, to 2 cm! The two large crystals crowning the piece make it, adding elegance and showcasing their gemminess well. In person, the slight bits of included brown quartz shard matrix are not so distracting as the photos somehow make them out to be. The darned crystals are just so gemmy, you see right through them to the matrix underneath (or in this case, enclosed rather). the top crystals are complete all around so that the piece is very 3-dimensional. SUPER MINIATURE!
RAZORSHARP, glassy octos to 3 cm dominate the top of this specimen. THey are extremely glassy, lustrous,m and translucent in the outer layers, but the interiors are unusual in that they either enclose brown quartz matrix or are themselves colored differently than the outer 6-8 mm or so. This results in unusual dark cores, to these octos. As a whole, though, the piece is very dramatic and still shows mostly green, in person.
A KILLER MINIATURE with a COMPLETE-ALL-AROUND, 360-degree crystal perched atop a natrual pedestal of smaller crystals. That large central crystal is probably the most isolated large crystal of the lot, in terms of how freestanding it is. It is flanked by a rising curtain of small, gemmy crystals to the right side. In person, I think its even better...just the incredible elegant display alone makes it, and the gemminess is a bonus! You can look right through it!
This is a sharp cluster of two deep green, translucent crystals, one measuring to 2.5 cm on edge! It is complete, save for contact on a cenral line on the backside, and has a bright and juicy color to it! BETTER IN PERSON!
A total freak of the pocket, this single piece with rounded purple fluorite covering a single fat quartz point!
Crystals to 1.7 cm that are so sharp you can cut your fingers on them, and so gemmy you can see right through to what appears to be ironstained shards of matrix enclosed now within the fluorites. The piece is complete alla round, crystallized on both sides perfectly, and without damag.e Its a beauty at a reasonable price, I think!
A "tower" of super-gemmy, deep green crystals to 2.2 cm, completely enclosing on all sides a central core of matrix. This is a very sharp piece, with tons of color for the price, just hard to photograph...so I'll add that it IS better in person!
Spectacular, complete-all-around, 360-degree specimen from old finds of the late 1970s, at this classic French locale. We have seen, on and off, the BLUE fluorite from this locale. I was shocked, however, to see such a vibrant and fine YELLOW from here (I assumed it was from Aveyron, but am assured it is, in fact, form a miner's collection out of Le Burq). The central crystal is 3.2 cm on longest edge, and the lustre is phenomenal. The color is a rich amber-yellow hue, that is very vibrant especially when backlit a bit. There is minor damage to the back, and few trivial dings elsewhere on some secondary crystals at the periphery, but it is really in quite good shape overall and displays phenomenally well. It is 3-dimensional, about as wide and deep as tall, with crystals jutting out all around from their perch on a sloping rock matrix. This mine is now closed, I understand, even to collecting.
25 cm across! This is a VERY large plate, with deeper green color and an unusual secondary "frosting" of drusy fluorite atop the underlaying large octohedra. It weighs nearly 14 pounds. This is a large, impactful specimen that is miraculously in good condition despite its size and the remoteness of this area. Comes with custom carved lucite base for display. Comes with custom lucite display base, included.
A stunning specimen that is all points and angles, very sharp all around. The large crystals reach 6 cm across. The piece is almost entirely translucent throughout - you can see inside to an internal core of a small bit of included matrix, and through most edges entirely. In person, the crystals have a better lustre and more 3-dimensionality than is easily shown in the photos if we are also trying to get color accurate (as I think it is). Comes with custom carved lucite base for display. This is, for the size and price range, one of th emore impressive specimens here. It is extremely high in quality because it is among the most transparent crystals and pristine on the display face.
A stark, dramatic, single large octohedron is here supported at its base by an accenting cluster of smaller crystals. The whole piece is translucent to transparent. In person, the crystals have a better lustre and more color than is easily shown in the photos.Pristine on the display face though cleaved in back (not visible from the front, in any case). Comes with custom carved lucite base for display.
A crowning wreath of SHARP, transparent green octohedra to 5 cm across dominates this large matrix specimen. It has some peripheral contact obviously around the rim near the bottom but otherwise the piece is complete and the crystals actually wrap around the top ridge and down the back side so it is overall extremely dramatic, showy, and intense for displaying COLOR. The pics don't do it justice. Comes with custom carved lucite base for display.
One of my favorites, this piece balances size and geometry overall to make for a handsized specimen with a lot of visual impact. The piece is mostly the one single central crystal which is among the most translucent in this lot (more so in person). Its overall form is accented by multistepped terminations and adjacent smaller crystals off each side. In person, this piece really "leaps" out from its base, as it is so sharp and equant.
