A plate of very pretty green fluorite from Okarusu, showing interesting stepped modifications on the corners, and some faint purple highlights. The specimen was sawn flat on the back to remove it from the pocket (as most of these are), with no matrix, so the light shines nicely right through the back of the crystals. There is some damage on the periphery at one side of the specimen, but none in the main display area. 13.2 x 9.1 x 4.3 cm
A EXCELLENT fluorite thumbnail of a near-transparent, lustrous octohedron of the VERY BEST rose-pink color from the Argentiere Glacier at Chamonix, France. This is CLASSIC and very desirable material from a sought-after locality. This fine crystal is complete all-around and is pristine. 1.3 x 1.0 x 1.0 cm
Two absolute GEMS of fluorite, one a compound crystal of 1.5 cm and the other a perfect cube, isolated dramatically on a contrasting matrix. COOL! 10.0 x 4.9 x 3.2 cm
This pink fluorite specimen is distinguished by two UNUSUALLY large and fine crystals, right in the center (to 2.5 cm on edge). Can you imagine if this were from the Alps? Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. 10.1 x 6.6 x 4.4 cm
An exquisite specimen of cubes of light purple fluorite on sheets of translucent celestine (commonly called celestite). From the collection of Marty Zinn. 8.7 x 7.3 x 5.4 cm
A big, fat, single crystal, complete all around, beautifully outlined in purple, with tiny pyrites embedded in the surface. The crystal is wrapped around sphalerite in back. This came from a dealer who once had, by their own count, 1300 Elmwood specimens, and now has only a handful, since the closing of the mine; this stuff is just disappearing! 5.2 x 4.6 x 4.3 cm
I love these amazingly perfect yellow balls of fluorite, unlike anything other fluorites you see from anywhere! This one is flawless, sitting on a carefully trimmed matrix of grey quartz. 5.5 x 3.8 x 2.7cm
As you can see, this is just a superb Illinois fluorite, with the classic zoning of golden yellow centers sharply outlined by gemmy purple rinds. Fine luster, and only a few nearly invisible micro-dings that don’t detract at all. For most purposes, its pristine. These specimens, in this quality, are becoming very uncommon on the market and prices seem to shoot up about 20% per year now that the mines have closed. This is as sharp a fluorite for the size as I have had in a long time from these classic mines! 6 x 5.5 x 2.7 cm
A BIG and RICH specimen of fluorite from an undisclosed New Mexico locality that has been mined by for the past couple of years, producing these very unique specimens that look like fluorite from nowhere else. They are essentially very densely intergrown octahedral crystals, forming a mass 4 cm thick of solid fluorite! The faces show pretty, stepped growth patterns along the octahedral faces. The crystals measure to 4 cm across....big and show! BETTER IN PERSON! 13.5 x 9 x 7 cm
An uncommon specimen of Spanish blue barite crystals, growing on either side of a thin plate of barite. There are a few contacts on the barites, but overall they are in good shape. 5.1 x 4.2 x 2.7 cm
A smooth, perfect globe of yellow fluorite on grey quartz, distinctive from this locality. 4.0 x 2.8 x 1.5 cm
A gorgeous Okarusu fluorite plate, with UNUSUALLY transparent crystals, to 2 cm on edge. This piece was sawn flat to remove it from the matrix, as almost all of these are - in this case, allowing the light to enter from the back of the crystal cluster and make this piece really glow. 10.7 x 7.8 x 3.1 cm
Auglaize fluorites are like no other due to their intense, glassy purple appearance and high luster. This is an intact pocket of sparkling, gemmy crystals (with a small pocket next to the large one). Fluorites from this locality are VERY hard to obtain now! 15.7 x 8.2 x 7.4 cm
A beautiful cluster of the famous "Blanchard Blue" teal-hued fluorite, with fine crystals to 1.5 cm on edge. Came out of the Jim Duncan collection. 8.3 x 6.2 x 5.0 cm
From the collection of Marty Zinn, a gorgeous specimen of WATER-CLEAR fluorite cubes nestled amongst contrasting coated quartz crystals, from Dalnegorsk. These have gotten very hard to obtain in good specimens, and will always be huge classics . . 6.9 x 6.0 x 5.6 cm
