When it comes to Fluorite specimens, some of the very finest, if not the most impressive and highly sought after are those from the Swiss Alps. Pink and red Fluorite from the clefts in Switzerland are among those minerals that reach the higest caliber of beauty and rarity. Not only are the Fluorites highly sought after, but when the crystals are associated with Smoky Quartz, thats the end all for Swiss Fluorites ! This specimen features some small, but fine quality, gemmy, light pink color crystals of Fluorite aesthetically sitting along the termination of a gem quality Smoky Quartz crystal. A great Alpine treasure ! 4.5 x 1.5 x 1.5cm
Elmwood fluorites just do not get better than this, and remember there will be no more, ever. This is an absolutely stunning mini out of Marty Zinn’s collection, and is actually a lot better in person. I paid a lot for it! The 2-cm fluorite is super-sharp, gemmy, and actually has a perfect phantom inside, which is rare for the Elmwood! The piece can be displayed from either side. One one side are some accessory crystals, including some sphalerites. The other is a more stark display of the crystal above the dolomite matrix. Either way, it’s a killer, and as I said, much more stunning in person. You will not be disappointed! 4.3 x 3.9 x 2.3 cm
I have been snatching up all the fine Elmwood pieces I can find on the market as the supply quickly dwindles. These fluorites measure to about 2.5 cm across, in a pretty cluster atop a matrix of euhedral sphalerite crystals (sphalerite, with its heavy zinc content, was the real reason for the existence of the Elmwood). They are nearly pristine, with just a few dings to corners on the righmost crystal at the edge 10 x 8.5 x 7.5 cm
These stunning Altai Mountain fluorites are just NOT AVAILABLE anymore. Last year, three specimens turned up as a total fluke from a contact who had them stashed away. They were found some years back in this mountainous area near Mongolia which hasn''t yet produced much compared to other parts of China. Not only are these difficult to obtain, but this is a LARGE, IMPORTANT specimen from the find! This fabulous, large specimen features deep purple, extremely modified cubes with tiered hexagonal and cubic sub-terminations and weirdly architectural forms. It is the largest of the three specimen we had, and really a VERY important fluorite specimen when it comes down to it. 27.0 x 14 x 6.9 cm
A showy and fine, lustrous, translucent, purple fluorite cube with excellent stepped faces from the famous Muzquiz area of Mexico. Excellent material from this locality. Ex Marty Lewadny Collection. 4.9 x 4.5 x 3.4 cm
A beautiful, translucent and lustrous, limpid sea-green fluorite cube from the famous Buckskin Mountains of Arizona. This pristine, fine piece is unusual, in that, the specimen exhibits cube, octohedron and dodecahedron faces. Ex Carl Davis Collection. 3.3 x 3.3 x 2.6 cm
Glowing, translucent octahedrons of green fluorite on an earlier generation of dark fluorite - and a scattering of dove-gray nailhead calcites. 10.4 x 7.2 x 5.0cm
This is, for quality, one of the best specimens recovered in a small find of the past summer. It features a very attractive 1.3 cm purple fluorite surmounting a sparkling matrix of quartz and smaller fluorite cubes! 4.9 x 3.4 x 1.6 cm
A beautiful specimen, liberally coated with sharp, gemmy fluorite cubes, from a small find of last summer. 6.6 x 3.4 x 2.3 cm
A remarkable large matrix plate featuring classic German yellow fluorites to just about 1 cm. This specimen is not to be confused with similar yellow fluorites from Freriberga totally different region. Note the gradation to purple color around the perimeter, contrasting the yellow nicely! 15.6 x 9 x 2.8 cm
A very showy and rich specimen of botryoidal, yellow, smithsonite on crystallized purple and massive fluorite from the famous Sheshodonnell East Mine, Carron, The Burren, County Clare, Ireland. A bit of periphery damage is insignificant as it displays so nicely and colorfully. This fine piece is the second of three pieces recently collected from the dumps produced by old workings (the specimen is ca. 150 years old) 5.8 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm
A superb crystal of the famous water-clear Dalnegorsk fluorite! The 1.7-cm crystal is perched in dramatic isolation atop a matrix of greenish quartz crystals. There is VERY minor edge wear, barely eye-visible. Good ones like this have become VERY hard to get! 6.7 x 5.7 x 6.6cm
A big, STRIKING specimen consisting of a thin plate of matrix covered with a layer of micro-muscovite, with a pile of BIG (to 3.5 cm!) purple fluorites on it, with lustrous, gemmy quartz crystals here and there as an accent! The corners of the fluorites have complex, stepped modifications. 16.6 x 11.1 x 5.1cm
Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. These translucent octahedrons measure up to 2.2 cm, and have pretty deep pink color! 9.0 x 8.5 x 5.0cm
This piece features a smothering of finely crystallized gemmy purple Fluorite covering what appears to be flattened rhombic Calcite crystals on Quartz, Pyrite and Sphalerite matrix. A unique specimen with an unusual color for this mine which is so well known for its exceptional pink and green Fluorite specimens. 5.2 x 4.8 x 2.3cm
