This is an OLD Weardale fluorite, sustantially complete on the front size (contacts are on the bottom and back), and of nice size. These show a purple fluorescence even in out in normal daylight! 3.5 x 3.1 x 3.0cm
One of two old English fluorites in this auction, this one an entirely different shade - clear with hints of lavender. Though there is some wear on the display face, it is complete (the contacts are on the back of the specimen). 3.6 x 3.0 x 2.9cm
Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. The color here is a little more on teh raspberry side, but hey its close enough. On this piece, these unusually transparent octahedrons measure up to 2 cm on edge. 9.5 x 8.2 x 4.0cm
A STRIKING and DRAMATIC combination Colorado CABINET plate dominated by a 2.3 cm, lustrous and translucent, purple fluorite cube with lustrous, translucent smoky quartz crystals and microcline crystals from the Lake George area. The large fluorite cube is pristine and overall, there is very, very minimal damage. Fluorites are especially rare and desirable from this colorado locality, better known for other minerals than fluorite. (notably amazonite!). This is a large, showy, fine combo. 11.5 x 8.3 x 3.8 cm
Lustrous, zoned, water-clear to cream-colored, doubly terminated calcite crystals aesthetically pepper the faces of a translucent, lustrous, purple fluorite cubic cleavage from the famed Cave in Rock District of Southern Illinois. This showy and beautiful specimen is from the Richard Hauck Collection and the calcite crystals have light yellow fluorescence. Uncommon in this quality. 5.9 x 5.3 x 4.0 cm
A very aesthetic, undamaged cluster of two, purple-cored with two shades of blue on the outside, frosted, translucent fluorite cubes from the famous Sunshine #2 Adit at the Blanchard Mine, Bingham, New Mexico. These are very large blue fluorites for the locality. The backlit photo highlights the two shades of blue and purple core. This is really excellent material and is valued highly from this well-known locality. Ex Chris Cowan Collection, a noted New Mexico collector. Rich deep-blue fluorescence. Unusual for size and quality. 6.0 x 4.9 x 3.2 cm
A beautiful, showy and undamaged plate of lustrous, glassy, purple fluorite octohedrons to 1.5 cm on nicely contrasting white matrix from the recent finds at the Mina Navidad of Mexico. SUPER purple fluorescence. Excellent material from the Marty Lewadny Collection. 9.6 x 8.2 x 2.7 cm
Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. Occasionally, such as with this particular piece, you get the wonderful clarity of an Alpine piece as well. These octahedrons measure up to 1.7 cm on edge. 11.1 x 5.5 x 2.2cm
A large plate of classic Okarusu fluorite, transparent green with purple highlights. This large specimen is distinguished by having complex, pretty stepped modifications on the corners of the crystals (which measure to over 3 cm across). 15.8 x 12.2 x 7.1cm
One of two Okarusu fluorite plates in this auction - this one smaller than the othe, with VERY transparent crystals for the Okarusu, measuring to 1.6 cm on edge. 11.8 x 7.6 x 3.6cm
Lustrous, translucent, light amber, nailhead calcite crystals to 2.9 cm nicely set atop a sea-green, CABINET-SIZED cleavage fragment of massive fluorite with a bit of matrix. The calcites are good, darned good considering the locality; but the combination of such sharp crystals on this perch is killer! This showy piece hales from an uncommon Washington state locality at Keller. Excellent purple fluorescence. 10.5 x 7.6 x 5.2 cm
A 1.8-cm crystal of light teal-colored fluorite, with a distinct phantom inside, nestled amongst lustrous quartz crystals. French fluorites are just not around in any quantity at all . . .this is a very cute specimen 8.0 x 5.7 x 4.5cm
This is a polished slice through a huge Illinois fluorite crystal, showing dramatically the distinctive zoning inside! There must be a dozen changes between purple and transparent as the solution changed in the pocket as the crystal was forming. 9.9 x 4.9 x 1.1cm
A BEAUTIFUL, AESTHETIC and UNCOMMON combination specimen of pink rhodochrosite rhombs on lustrous and gemmy, deep purple fluorite cubes with attendant muscovite from Akchatau, Kazakhstan. Very few pieces of this quality and combination ever came out. Purple fluorescence on the fluorite. Old collection material, mined in the 60s or 70s. 6.2 x 4.7 x 4.1 cm
A SUPERB and AESTHETIC cluster of lustrous, transparent, frosted, purple fluorite cubes with EXCELLENT edge phantoms from the famous South Illinois Fluorite District. A beautifully pristine specimen. 7.4 x 5.3 x 3.4 cm
