A LARGE plate of fluorites, many of them twinned, from new mining over the past few years at the Rogerley Mine. These highly fluorescent fluorites measure to over 2 cm on edge. Many of the crystals show good transparency and limpid green color. There are some galena cubes mixed in here and there as well. A big, rich plate of classic material! 14.2 x 13.8 x 7.4cm
SUPER, gemmy, lustrous and transparent, interpenetrating green fluorite crystals to 1.5 cm aesthetically perched on matrix with a few scattered galena crystals from the famous Rogerley Mine of England. A couple of super-trivial edge bruises are barely discernable. SUPERB purple fluorescence. CHOICE material from the Lewadny Collection. 6.3 x 5.7 x 4.2 cm
These water-clear Dalnegorsk fluorites have become really hard to get, especially in fine condition. There are four crystals here, absolutely clear as glass and sharp as a razor! Largest is 1.3 cm 6.5 x 3.7 x 4.3 cm
The fluorites on this specimen appear for all the world like JEWELS that have been delicately placed on the sides of the quartz crystals! A few quartzes are broken, most intact. They are that gemmy and bright! These glass-clear light blue fluorites even have purple phantoms inside. Stunning! BETTER IN PERSON! 10.5 x 9.5 x 7 cm
A BIG, DRAMATIC cluster of quartz crystals with sharply defined phantoms inside! The earlier growth of the quartz crystals was milky and opaque, so the later gemmy generation of growth left the phantoms inside clearly visible. In some of the crystals, you can see a DOUBLE phantom, the second phantom being marked by a trace of green chlorite. The crystals are decorated along their side faces with dozens of sub-terminations. The peak of the uppermost crystal does have some damage, and there are a couple of other minor dings. Still, for a piece this size, these are allowable detractions. 18 x 16 x 6.2 cm
Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. These octahedral crystals are VERY deep pink, and measure up to 1.5 cm on edge. 10.6 x 6.0 x 2.7cm
A gemmy, 1.5-cm cube of fluorite, with a sharp purple phantom inside and beautiful stepped faces, on a matrix of sparkly green muscovite balls. Smaller fluorites are like little jewels on the matrix. 6.6 x 4.3 x 2.5cm
As with the pink fluorites from the same locality, until these creedites were discovered, good crystallized specimens were exceedingly rare and expensive from ANY locality. Now, you can own a really fine creedite without selling your house to get it! This specimen is distinguished by a pretty crystal of green fluorite, with most of its faces intact. The creedite crystals on this specimen measure up to just under one centimeter. 7.9 x 5.0 x 5.0cm
This is a large plate of YELLOW fluorite from a mine known for its purple/blue/green fluorite. This large specimen is from a recent pocket that turned out crystals in various shades of cream to yellow. There were very few specimens available, and we bought just about all there were. There are crystals here to over 3 cm along the edge. There are pretty little hints of purple here and there. There ARE some dings here and there but nothing in context that is a problem, i think. 16.2 x 16.0 x 3.0cm
To go along with the fine calcite twin from the Elmwood in this auction, here is a really large and nice fluorite from there. This BIG crystal measures 5 cm along the edge, and you can see a couple of gemmy calcites decorating the display face. The contact is on back, and does wrap around to barely ding one corner on of the main face, but this does not stand out. 5.2 x 4.6 x 3.2cm
A plate of GLASSY cubes of fluorite, very lustrous, with a very slight pastel green tint that does not come through in the photos. These glass-clear fluorites are highly regarded by Chinese dealers! 8.2 x 6.2 x 1.6cm
Small, modified fluorite cubes, on an earlier generation of translucent green octahedrons, which themselves grew on an even earlier generation of grayish-purple fluorite! (You usually just see the two-generation green-on-purple from this find.) 10.3 x 6.4 x 4.6cm
Another relatively rare specimen, a plate of bright green fluorite from the Unaweep Canyon in Colorado, which has formed scalenohedral crystals on the display face, and glows a beautiful color with light behind it. Old classic, hard to get today! 5.9 x 3.3 x 0.7cm
An EXTREMELY FINE, pristine, purple cored with yellow, fluorite cube with excellent edge phantoms and lustrous, frosted faces from the famous Minerva #1 Mine of Southern Illinois. Choice material from the Lewadny Collection. 4.5 x 4.1 x 4.0 cm
A cluster of highly modified crystals of fluorite with green interiors, on a matrix of deep green muscovite, with a lone quartz point sticking out of it! The ridge of fluorite is a bit rough along the lower edge and there is one fluorite crystal trimmed off at the matrix level, but these detractions are honestly truly minor in context. 19.5 x 13 x 6 cm
