A super specimen of a pristine, 1.9 cm, translucent, yellow fluorite ball aesthetically set on crust of sparkly quartz crystals. This piece comes from the unique find at the Mahodari Quarry a couple of years ago. 5.2 x 5.1 x 1.9 cm
A very large plate of BIG, transparent green fluorite crystals from the Okarusu. They measure to just under 3 cm across. There are as few dings, but as you can see this is a really impressive fluorite specimen! 16.3 x 14.6 x 7.8 cm
The fluorites from this locality are so distinctive, for their elaborate stepped growth. It gives them an appearance unlike fluorites from anywhere else. 8.3 x 6.8 x 6.5 cm
Two cuboctahedral crystals of fluorite in association with quartz. The fluorites are water-clear inside, and some of the faces offer clear "windows" into the interior. The larger crystal (2.3-cm) is a real beauty, set against two forms (and colors) of quartz. 5.2 x 4.5 x 3.1 cm
Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. These octahedrons measure up to 1.5 cm on edge. Very deep pink color on this one. 11.2 x 7.7 x 3.2 cm
This wonderful fluorite find was so small that it was virtually overlooked, and I have bought up every specimen I could find. The fluorites were found in an extremely inhospitable area of the Sahara desert, alternately very cold and very hot, and the clusters are spread out and isolated in crevices rather than in pockets where you can take out a number of specimens at a time. So the mining was extremely painstaking, and the miners have given up, probably for good. The crystals have a unique silky luster and intense purple color. Though this specimen has some dings, it is one of the largest specimens I have seen from the find, and the crystals are very large for the find as well - up to 2.3 cm across, which is the biggest I have seen. 8.9 x 8.6 x 7 cm
This large, striking showpiece features a large, super-fine, GEM-LIKE fluorite, 3.5 cm across, nestled in a matrix of pretty green muscovite balls deocrated with stacks of poker-chip calcites. This major specimen measures 8 inches in one direction and over 6 in the other; the stark isolation of the single fine fluorite crystal makes it really breathtaking. 18.6 x 16.3 x 15.5 cm
An amazingly architectural, ornate crystal of bi-colored Illinois fluorite. The stepped growth has created a sort of sculptural relief, with the darker outer areas complementing the recessed, golden interior. 5.7 x 4.3 x 3.6 cm
This is a BIG plate of fluorite from a unique recent pocket at the Okarusu that produced fluorites in tones of yellow and light purple, rather than the usual teal-blue and green. This plate actually has a crystal almost 5 cm across in the center of it! There IS some damage, so it is not pristine, but nevertheless - a very uncommon and impressive Okarusu piece. 21.4 x 13.8 x 8.5 cm
A beautiful Illinois fluorite, VERY gemmy, with distinct zoning showing a glowing yellow center and a transparent light purple exterior. It is also notable for its inclusions of natural hydrocarbons (oil or bitumen, basically the remains of ancient organic matter). The crystals are intergrown in a very architectural manner. 3.8 x 3.0 x 2.1cm
A huge specimen of fluorite from Musquiz, which look like fluorite from nowhere else due to the magnificent stepped growth on the faces. Each crystal is a complex arrangement of cubic forms, and this is a complete MOUND of piled-up crystals, actually a cast as you can see from the concave underside of the specimen. Extra shipping due to size and weight. 16.5 x 15.2 x 8.0cm
Glowing, golden-yellow crystals of fine luster, with a sharp purple line delineating the edges. 5.5 x 4.0 x 2.4cm
This is an unusually light-colored and pretty Elmwood fluorite, on a bit of sparkly sphalerite matrix. The crystal measures 3 cm along the edge. What is cool about it is that you can see the process of etching that often happened in these pockets had begun with this one, working its way into the side faces of the crystal, but leaving the gemmy corner that sometimes resulted in nothing left but a gemmy corner with a conical, etched-away back side, a notable oddity characteristic of the Elmwood. The fluorite is complete all the way around. 5.2 x 4.3 x 3.7cm
Until these pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite, and the cost of a specimen such as this was (and still is) astronomical from those localities. These octahedrons measure up to 1.5 cm, and have fine deep pink color. 8.8 x 7.2 x 3cm
A gemmy, water-clear, 1.4-cm fluorite crystal perched atop the matrix, with beautiful bevels, with many smaller ones of the same quality decorating the matrix beneath it. Mined at the Nikolaevsky two years ago. SUPERB! 6.3 x 4.5 x 2.8cm
