A VERY VERY RARE example of fluorite in association with garnet from this productive locality. As many garnets as I have seen, though, I have seen only a small handful of fluorites from this place! 4.9 x 4.7 x 2.1 cm
I have never seen another specimen like this, with surreal color and appearance for the locality. The fluorite is a unique green hue in color, and has glassy lustre and excellent transparency. The specimen features one large modified octohedron sitting in the middle of the cluster, but since it is all so transparent it looks like this crystal just emerges from glass, almost. Very neat , and better in person! 7.6 x 7.4 x 4.4 cm
A fine purple fluorite crystal of 2.8 cm leans on a cluster of quartz crystals. The fluorite is complete all around, with just the smallest bit of contact in one place in back where the specimen was removed from matrix. The fluorite shows wonderful zoning, with a sharp line of teal blue in its interior marking the boundaries of the phantom inside. 7.6 x 5.6 x 5.2 cm
This is a floater of glass-clear Illinois fluorite, with the classic purple and yellow tones. The back side consists of hundreds of microfaces; the crystal was etched naturally while still in the pocket, allowing faces to re-form on the back side. You can still see a few curved etched areas which give evidence of the stages this crystal went through. Unfortunately, the front corner is dinged - but it is a pretty and interesting specimen nonetheless. 7.2 x 5.1 x 3.2 cm
A TOP QUALITY piece from a classic mine that is now closed for good, with the supply of specimens having already dried up on the market. These are wonderful ZONED transparent purple cubes to 2 cm on edge, piled attractively on top of a dome of sparkling deep red sphalerite, with two large, euhedral sphalerite crystals right below the fluorites. The crystals are pristine; the back of the specimen is a natural flat contact face. 6.9 x 6.6 x 4.2 cm
Very difficult to capture in photos, but this is a solid plate of transparent blue-green fluorite with purple accents that has formed bizarre, ziggurat-shaped crystals on its surface - modifications to the octahedron in the form of what appear almost as steps going up the edges of the octahedrons, with flat terminations. We have tried to photograph this numerous times in different ways, but just can''t get good pics. So, this one comes with a guarantee - if you win it and do not like it, we will gladly take it back! 9.8 x 6.2 x 3.9 cm
Golden, glowing phantom fluorite cubes to 2.7-cm, with yellow cores and bright purple around the outer 1/2-cm. 6.8 x 5.0 x 3.6 cm
Recent mining at the Yaogangixian has turned up these gorgeous combo specimens of PURPLE FLUORITE with glittery crystals of arsenopyrite; this specimen has the added attraction of a fine quartz crystal centered on the specimen. Smaller quartz crystals are intermixed with the fluorites and arsenos. The large quartz crystal has some wear on the top edge, but with the overall piece being this pretty, you can cut it some slack. 8.2 x 6.2 x 4.6 cm
This was an exciting find of the end of last year; there were no new specimens from this find at the Tucson show, so one wonders if there is any more coming. At any rate - it features both octahedrons and very complex, super-modified octahedrons of translucent green fluorite on an earlier generation of purple-gray fluorite. The largest octahedron measures around 3.5 cm. In places, you can see the green crystals wrapped around the contours of the earlier purple-gray! 9.3 x 9.1 x 6.3 cm
The transparent purple-and-blue crystals on this large specimen are piled up 4 cm deep, with modifications on the cube forming hundreds of lustrous faces. Rather than being a solid, undifferentiated mass of fluorite, the fluorite is sitting on a matrix of muscovite. This is a big, showy and VERY impressive fluorite specimen! 18.0 x 13.2 x 8.6 cm
Two glass-clear, pastel light blue cubes of fluorite, in pristine condition and sharp as razors, on a quartz crystal. The larger of the fluorites is 1.3 cm on edge. 7.3 x 5.0 x 3.7 cm
Unusual, yellow apatite in the form of a radial aggregate, dusted with minute specks of chalcopyrite. The surface of the hemispherical cluster has a multifaceted and sparkly lustre to it. There is microcrystalline pale-purple fluorite, which is very rare for the location, in association on the backside. The piece can be displayed vertically or horizontally. 4.0 x 2.5 x 1.6 cm
Crystals to 2 cm on edge of the famous Dalnegorsk water-clear fluorite, piled up on matrix. The main display face crystals are in fine shape, with damage limited to crystals on the periphery. 9.9 x 6.7 x 5.3 cm
An extremely rare specimen from a small find of beautiful , sparkly, fluorite pseudomorphed after calcite. The sparkle is in part due to a an overgrowth of tiny drusy quartz, but the fluorite is also nice and bright in itself. Excellent specimen from the Peter Megaw Collection 8 x 7 x 5 cm
This superb miniature really stands out amongst others I have seen, even back in the heyday of these mines. The crystals are large, lustrous, and translucent. they have the best rich golden hue you can ask for from the locality. Importantly, they are perched perfectly on matrix of sharp, cubic, purple fluorite! It is a gorgeous specimen and a rare competition-quality barite from a district not known for such fine examples of the species on a common basis 4.7 x 4.5 x 3.3 cm
