3.4 x 2.8 x 1.6 cm. The Huanzala mine in Peru has produced some of the most attractive and impressive Fluorites from all of South America. The mine has produced both green and pink Fluorites, and even pieces with the two colors in the same crystal. This piece hosts highly modified Fluorite crystals (a combination of cube, octahedron and dodecahedron) with a lovely "water green" color with excellent gemminess on one side, and a contrasting "frosted" appearance on the other side. The largest crystal measures 9 mm across. There is some associated Pyrite at the base/underside of the specimen.
5.7 x 4.4 x 4.0 cm. An unusual combination of yellow muscovite crystals, in sharp hexagonal blades, perched upon dark green, etched cubic fluorite. The fluorite is in some cases cuboctahedral, modified on its corners. The fluorite is itself in a cluster around a core of slender schorl crystals, some of which can be seen around the periphery. From the noted Erongo specialty collection of Heini Soltau.
4.1 x 2.4 x 1.7 cm. This is an absolutely exquisite miniature/toenail-sized specimen featuring 2 conjoined crystals, each about 1.2 to 1.4 cm across. They are gemmy, transparent, and subtly colored and patterned. The matrix is straw-yellow muscovite mica. From the noted Erongo specialty collection of Heini Soltau.
14.2 x 9.8 x 4.8 cm. This is a large cabinet piece of this style.
2.2 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm. A rare and beautiful specimen of sharp, water-clear to translucent, spinel-twinned fluorite crystals with striking, intensely purple color zoning from recent finds at the famous Shangbao Mine of China. This specimen competes with the best from Naica, Mexico. Very few of these were recovered and they are highly desirable. Complete-all-around and pristine.
3.9 x 3.4 x 3.3 cm. A classic and beautiful, sharply color-zoned, purple fluorite cube aesthetically accented with a lustrous, colorless calcite scalenohedron from the Minerva #1 Mine of South Illinois. The interesting, lustrous, stepped-growth faces are entrancing. Complete-all-around, the edges are pristine. The crystal has striking, two-toned, white and purple fluorescence.
10.3 x 8.4 x 6.0 cm. Very pretty, color-zoned, purple fluorite cubes are richly and aesthetically scattered on the sintered-looking, sturdy, sculptural, cabinet matrix on this fine specimen from a brand new find at the Mina Ojuela. The fluorite cubes, to 8 mm, are transparent, highly lustrous and the crystal faces are lightly etched, giving the cubes a waxy lustre. This excellent piece is essentially pristine. All of the cubes are pristine. The vivid purple color-zoning makes these highly attractive Mina Ojuela fluorites that compare very favorably with those recovered from any era.
8.2 x 7.3 x 2.4 cm. Until these lustrous, translucent, pink fluorites were discovered in Mexico, Peru and the Alps were the only sources for pink fluorite. These translucent octahedrons measure up to 1.8 cm, and have vivid, deep pink color against the beautifully contrasting white quartz matrix. The white quartz on the fluorites is a fine accent. A striking, sculptural plate. Vivid purple fluorescence.
11.5 x 10.5 x 4.0 cm. Lustrous, translucent, zoned, purple fluorite cubes to 2.2 cm are richly and aesthetically strewn on the cabinet matrix plate covered with sparkly drusy quartz from recent finds at the Shangbao Mine of China.
5.0 x 5.0 x 3.3 cm. Pretty, lustrous and translucent, zoned purple fluorite cubes are piled high on microcline matrix on this fine specimen from the 2008 find at the Dreamtime Mine of Teller County, Colorado. The striking, elongated cube is 1.3 cm. The fluorite cluster is complete-all-around. There were very few fluorite clusters of this quality and richness recovered. From the Monster Pocket.
A very gemmy, translucent, bright green fluorite of excellent quality for this small "mine" - more a ditch and a trench, really, than a true mine! It is a hard place to work and specimens like this are uncommon. 5.3 x 4.2 x 3.8 cm
This is a green fluorite of superior quality, from teh old fluorspar mining district of Durham. It is from the noted collection of German mineral collector Uli Burchard and was chosen by him for its unusually high degree of lustre, clarity, and condition. It is an old piece, quite distinct in quality and tone from material mined recently at nearby properties. The glassiness and deep, rich color really make it stand out. BETTER IN PERSON! 8.8 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm
A VERY rich and colorful specimen of green fluorite completely covering a knoll of matrix! On top of it are perched elongated crystals of calcite. This is a huge and showy locality specimen, and is the best I have seen for sale from the locality! BETTER IN PERSON! 10.4 x 6.4 x 3.5 cm
This specimen came out in a one-time find which was brought to Tucson in (if i recall correctly) in 1988 or 1989. It is a sparkling, showy piece composed of a thick coating of translucent lavender fluorite which has coated the stibnite beneath. Amongst all such specimens I have seen, it really is one of the better examples for size and overall 3-dimensionality as an affordable miniature-sized piece. As a final note, I should say that this unique find remains so to this day, with no further examples coming to market in over a decade. 3 x 2.4 x 1 cm
A showy specimen with sparkling quartz on top of deep green fluorite - very nice and unusual for the locality, as well! 5.5 x 5.2 x 2.7 cm
