Gorgeous, pristine, 1-inch cuboctohedral crystals perched on a stalk of sphalerite! They are gemmy and transparent, and this is one of my favorite miniatures in the lot.
Gorgeous, pristine, cluster of large cuboctohedral crystals perched on a galena matrix. They are gemmy and transparent, and complete all around except for a small contact in back where you can see some very pretty pyrite inclusions. Classic Naica crystallization!
This piece features a GEMMY, transparent, pastel green crystal measuring 4 cm atop a stacked aggregate of smaller, stepped fluorites showing various cubic or octohedral faces. It is VERY bright and sparkly. Complete and pristine on front, contacted only on the back.
A stunning miniature with a horizontal "T" of fluorite crossing the sphalerite matrix. The fluorite is the most gemmy, clean, transparent quality you can ask for and you can look right through it to the underlaying matrix! The fluorite is undamaged on front and sides, with just a few minor contacts (or cleaves - it is hard to tell) confined to several minor rear-facing crystals. This piece actually sits on its own nicely, at an angle intermediate to those shown in the top photos.
Water-clear, sharp, cuboctohedra perched winningly on a pedestal of sphalerite matrix! Pristine and complete all around, this is a stunning miniature.
A single SHARP, transparent, 3 x 2.8 x 2 cm fluorite crystal sits starkly in the middle of this flashy galena matrix, with a little accent of drusy quartz on the right side. Note it is so clear you can look right through it to the galena underneath! FINE miniature, with stark and classic cuboctohedral crystallography
A beautiful cluster pf pristine, gemmy, pastel-green cuboctohedra !
A sharp matrix specimen with a SUPERB 1.8-cm crystal on it that is as close to a "jewel" as you can expect here. The sharp cuboctohedral shape and extraordinary gemminess of this dominant crystal really elevates this miniature to a rare quality level beyond just representative. As well, it look sgood from jus tabout any angle, and throws off light from the hundreds of small bevelled faces of the smaller crystals all stacked together in geometric forms. VERY 3-D and dramatic! The fluorite is on a thin plate of sphalerite and also has some minute Pyrite inclusions that are quite obvious in person.
Just a cute representative piece form the find, with sharp cuboctohedral crystals and super bright lustre, and gemminess.
This specimen sits on its own as shown, but can be displayed any number of ways. It is VERY dramatic in person, showcasing a large single crystal atop, and contrasted nicely to the stairstep crystallization on the left side. However, you can also rotate the piece up and 90 degrees to show the major crystal and the "tower stack" splaying out to the left and right. VERY NICE either way! The piece is pristine and damage free. The large crystal is 4 cm across and is remarkable for its clarity and quality. Also, for Naica, it is more cubic than most of the larger crystals in the new pocket which tend to have more octohedral modifications. This is one o fmy favorite, if not the most expensive by any means, of the small cabs in the lot.
Sharp gemmy, pastel green cuboctohedral crystals to almost 4 cm across make this a wonderful display piece with lots of pizzazz in person. You can se ei nthe photo that the crystals are SO GEMMY and transparent tha tyou can look right through them to the bit of attached matrix of sulpides behind - that's over an inch and a half thick ! In person, the piece actually displays better tilted 90 degrees to the left but the right view emphasizes the inclusion in the photo...both views are shown here. Undamaged, pristine, display face!
This miniature features a super gemmy , sharp, 2.3 cm cuboctohedron perched atop sulfides! It is stunning visually. The crystal sadly ha sa large contacted edge on the lefthand side, and so this is about 1/3 the price it might otherwise be, although it still looks like a killer form the head-on front
A 3-cm "jewel" of a crystal perched on sphalerite matrix! This crystal is gemmy, translucent to transparent with a few internal veils only (they look worse in the photos than in person, so I lowered the price a bit but really this should go for more...). Overall, this is one of the sharpest and most discrete crystals I have from the pocket, and its balanced placement on matrix makes it a very fine, but inexpensive , miniature of high quality.
A dramatic stairstep of sharp cubic crystals with octohedral edge modifications! This cluster is complete ALL AROUNDthe fluorite 100% present and accounted for even on the backside. There is some sulfide matrix attached. The specimen can go vertical, or horizontal as shown, or really from any other angle because its just as dramatic. I think it is a classical Naica piece with th emore cubic style of crystallization, although the sphalerite association is unusual. The quality of the crystals is , in person, more transparent and more green in color than the washed-out gray you see here. A pastel green is more accurate
A beautiful combo piece of bright white calcite covered with a second generation of sparklier , minutely-crystallized calcite, perched on bright jet-black sphalerite crystals. VERY sparkly and colorful overall for a black-and-white piece. Small, gemmy, transparent cuboctohedral fluorites sprinkle the calcite at its tip and are scattered about the matrix as well. I am told that not many of these came out with the main pocket of fluorites.
