AP13 - Apatite on Ferberite with Topaz - $ 850 SOLD Panasqueira, Portugal miniature, 6.1 x 4.5 x 3.3 cm
This material, I am told, came from one pocket in the late 1970s. I have seen only 3 specimens for sale out there. All 3 i have seen feature very unusual wheat-sheaf-like apatite crystals of a pastel yellow hue, in association with ferberite. More interestingly, they also have small 1-3 mm crystals of faintly blue topaz in association, as this one does scatterred about on the ferberites! This is an excelleent example of a rare association!
CKTSR-22 - ILMENITE on SMOKY QUARTZ, with Ferberite and Topaz - $ 4000 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia small cabinet, 7 x 6 x 4 cm ex. Charlie Key
A somewhat more elegant but less massive specimen featuring, this time, an ilmenite perched ON the smokies instead of vice versa. This specimen ALSO HOSTS, in the middle zone of sparkling brown you see there, ferberite and a small 8 mm topaz as well as probably other species that are micros. It is extremely aesthetic, overall, for what it is...and the crystal is complete around the upper termination and sides around to the back face
J08-11 - Ferberite with Quartz - $ 2250 SOLD Tae Hwa Mine, Chungcheongbukdo , South Korea cabinet, 10.5 x 8 x 5.3 cm
A MAJOR ferberite for this important locale....and, No, this is NOT a super ferberite specimen from the plentiful finds in China, but a much more uncommon KOREAN specimen that came out of the Rolf Wein Collection in Germany, which was dispersed around 2004-2005. What makes it extraordinary is not just its excellence for this locality, and in fact its overall quality by any standard, but also its amazing aesthetics: the large, 7.5-cm ferberite crystal is locked inside gemmy, translucent quartz crystals! Its termination, in fact, extends right up into the crystal on the left side. Ferberite is not typically a remarkably pretty mineral, so the fact that this specimen is so attractive and dramatic overall adds a lot to its existing desirability as a fine locality specimen from one of the most classic localities for tungsten minerals. Ferberite also , I can say, does not seem to occur often as inclusions. I cannot think of another piece I know with similar aeshtetics.
K-134 - Ferberite on Fluorite - $ 450 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia cabinet, 10.1 x 7.0 x 4.6 cm ex. Charlie Key
An absolutely ugly fluorite cluster serves host to some absolutely fantastic locality ferberite crystals, that are sharp and well formed from any place but particularly rare in the suite of minerals found in the Erongos. Charlie valued this highly and took care to point it out to us in the collection. These ferberites, he said, were the best he was ever able to obtain and frankly i had NEVER even heard of such crystals being reported from the region so i was shocked.

9.0 x 6.0 x 5.2 cm. This was one of the very few matrix pieces from the recent find of these amazing specimens. There are several crystals on the front of the specimen which are actually a multi-twinned crystal group.
MD-121653 - Ferberite, Quartz - - Archived Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China miniature, 5.0 x 4.5 x 2.8 cm.

MD-131110 - Ferberite - - Archived Tazna Mine (Tasna Mine; Tazna-Rosario Mine), Cerro Tazna, Atocha-Quechisla District, Nor Chichas Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia thumbnail, 3.0 x 2.1 x 1.7 cm.
3.0 x 2.1 x 1.7 cm. Here is a superb, twinned crystal of Ferberite. This piece features the classic, "butterfly" twinning of Ferberite along the (100) face. This piece is a good sized, sharp, lustrous, aesthetic jet-black twinned crystal that is displayable from several angles. Admittedly, there is a very small amount of damage to this crystal, but it is such a great, "textbook" twin, the damage is really forgivable. Twinned crystals from Bolivia have become increasingly difficult for me to obtain from Bolivia. These are definitely the most highly sought after crystal habit from this locality as well.
MD-132022 - Ferberite - - Archived Tazna Mine (Tasna Mine; Tazna-Rosario Mine), Cerro Tazna, Atocha-Quechisla District, Nor Chichas Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia small cabinet, 6.7 x 4.8 x 3.7 cm.
6.7 x 4.8 x 3.7 cm. This is a very impressive, display specimen of Ferberite from Bolivia. The piece features several sharp, lustrous, aesthetic, jet-black crystals measuring up to 2.0 cm forming a beautiful "flower"-like crystal group associated with a few gemmy Quartz crystals. These Bolivian Ferberites are often underrated and stand up well against any other Ferberites from China or Panasqueira. This piece was from the famous find in 1999 at Tasna.
