4.9 x 2.4 x 0.8 cm. A floater, pristine cluster of parallel-growth, doubly terminated, lustrous and gemmy, olive-green epidote crystals. This fine piece is from the 2005 find at Blatten, Valais, Switzerland, a well-known Swiss locality for epidote. Ex. Brent Lockhart Collection.
10.0 x 7.1 x 6.2 cm. Epidote and quartz is a classic association from this old Colorado iron mine. Here, the quartz is dominant, in the form of slender, transparent crystals, to 5 cm. The epidote appears as opaque green crystals on the matrix and flecks on the quartz crystals. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
9.5 x 8.8 x 5.1 cm. The vast majority of Brandberg quartz specimens are not matrix specimens, but single crystals - prized for their stunning clarity and "blushes" of internal color isolated in the clear quartz. This crystal shows superb luster and clarity. But, it also has the prized chevron patterns of smoky and purple hues inside. What is more, the matrix it is framed by is covered not only by quartz crystals, but also has little shiny olive-green epidotes on it. You can see some tiny epidotes, as well as bright red lepidocrocites included inside some of the quartz crystals.
3.6 x 3.0 x 2.5 cm. This specimen hosts a fine, gemmy, water-green color spherical aggregate of Prehnite sitting atop thick, dark brownish-green crystals of Epidote . The Prehnite has thousands of very sharp micro terminations all over the "ball".
6.1 x 5.4 x 4.4 cm. These are sharp crystals of olive-green epidote in a cluster nestled amongst transparent quartz crystals.
4.2 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm. An aesthetic and excellent mounded specimen of lustrous, dark olive-green epidote crystals interspersed with glassy, transparent quartz crystals from the famous Green Monster Mine of Alaska. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
3.9 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm. A classic, pristine, partially gemmy, dark olive-green epidote crystal from Knappenwand, Austria. This lustrous, complete all-around beauty is nicely striated.
9.3 x 9.3 x 5.5 cm. An old-time, fine and rich epidote specimen from the historic Type Locality - Bourg d'Oisans, France. Gemmy and lustrous, olive-green epidote prisms to 1.4 cm richly cover both sides of the greenstone matrix. Although some crystals are broken, this remains a very highly representative and rarely seen old-timer from this classic locale. From an old Museum Collection and comes with two, old, handwritten labels in German and an epidote crystal figure. The date of September 13, 1855 is clearly visible on one label. Old-time, documented material like this is very rare.
6.4 x 4.6 x 3.5 cm. A superb Italian epidote, with sharp, lustrous crystals to almost an inch in size.
A very attractive and pristine combination specimen of lustrous dark green epidote with transparent quartz crystals from the classic Brazilian locality of Capelinha, Brazil. Most epidotes from here are big and clunky, but this one has superb aesthetics and is a small cabinet. This is an old piece, very seldom available in this quality. I have seen a limited number for sale, and of them this is the only competitive quality miniature-sized specimen. 6.5 x 5.8 x 2.9 cm
4.5 x 2.2 x 1.7 cm. A glassy, parallel-growth quartz crystal tower richly included with epidote and beautifully complimented by sidecar, quartz crystals from Balochistan, Pakistan.
17.8 x 14.4 x 8.8 cm. This is a very fine, large plate from an exciting find of around 3 years ago in China. The specimens combine transparent quartz crystals with forest-green crystal of epidote, here spread in a rich field on the matrix. These specimens could be unbalanced in various ways, but this one has a fine balance of quartz crystals scattered across the field of sharp epidotes.
10.5 x 4.5 x 2.8 cm. A fine cluster of bottle-green epidote crystals from Nevada, with glassy luster, and stretching 10 cm to their terminations - in a gently tapering and elegant spray. The crystals on the left have had their growth interrupted by a cluster of transparent, doubly-terminated quartz crystals.
6 x 1 x 0.5 cm. A fine, sizeable crystal of epidote, elegant and absolutely transparent, with a pretty coffee color. This crystal has excellent luster and a perfect termination.
5.4 x 3.5 x 2.9 cm. A fine cluster of blocky, lustrous, olive-green epidote crystals on a matrix of small garnet crystals from a less well-known Mexican locality - St. Quentin in Baja California. This is a fine, complete all-around cluster. The major crystals are in excellent condition. Ex. Dave Stoudt Collection.
