A superb and complete reticulated epididymite crystal.

E11 - Epididymite - £ 216
Mt. St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada

thumbnail, 1.4 x 1 x 0.8 cm
share specimen

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

This specimen is one of the larger intact crystals of the columnar form of epididymite from the find, of which only a few were available of this size. Note that it is the terminations on the c-axes which show the reticulated style, and the columnar shape is actually the dominant crystal form here whereas the c-axis is truncated in most other specimens (the ones that look most like cerussite). This is an excellent crystal for the species!

E2 - Epididymite - £ 497

An unusually gemmy, doubly-terminated crystal perched on a sharp Aegirine mount. VERY translucent and lustrous in person!

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

The only Epididymite-associated specimen I saw, with a very sharp 7.5 mm crystal of Nenadkevichite perched upon the Epididymite

3.1 x 2.1 x 1.7 cm. This specimen contains what are by far and away among the largest reported crystals of the species, as do other specimens from the remarkable find of 2003 by MSH specialist collector Gilles Haineult. These crystals are to 8 mm in size and are nice and fat as well, with sharp terminations and good luster. Matrix associations include superb twinned epidiymite crystals and aegerine. Ex. James Zigras Collection.

A choice miniature of this unusual material, because it features several species in aerial agglomeration. The pseudomorph forms the base for the manganoneptunite and Epididymite sprays, and is itself perched delicately upon aegirine-speared albite. This particular specimen also shows off the new find of Epididymite, in the form of shockingly well-formed crystals! There were just a few miniatures of this quality - most were thumbnails. 3.5 x 3 x 1.75 cm

A choice thumbnail of this unusual material, of which several dozen were available and I picked 4 I regarded as bit nicer than most. This particular specimen also shows off the new find of Epididymite, in the form of shockingly well-formed crystals! 2 x 2 x 1.5 cm
