8.8 x 1.6 x 1.2 cm. A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, green, multi-crystal tourmaline cluster from the famous Cruzeiro Mine of Brazil. The crystals have excellent gemminess and green color saturation, with darker terminations. Old material, with only two broken side-car terminations, which are certainly not detracting. 20 grams.
3.9 x 1.0 x 1.0 cm. A fine crystal that is VERY gemmy for the Himalaya, green at the bottom, pink in the middle, and then green again at the top termination. The bottom termination is actually almost complete as well - a strange multi-tiered termination. Complete all the way around, no contacts or damage, and good luster. Weighs 8 grams. Ex. Tom Campbell Collection.
5.4 x 0.7 x 0.7 cm. Stunningly gemmy from top to bottom, with very beautiful and unusual color! It is lavendar at the bottom and light cranberry at the top. Complete all around, with a fine, sharp termination. Super luster, too. Weighs 6 grams. Ex. Tom Campbell Collection.
4.2 x 2.9 x 2.9 cm. A FATTY tourmaline from the Himalaya, and doubly-terminated too! This ample crystal is a rich pink and nicely gemmy for the Himalaya! It has a perfect flat termination on one end and a multi-faceted one on the other (though this bottom termination does show contact). There is a natural contact area where the crystal was attached to quartz on the back side. This impressive crystal weighs 63 grams.
2.6 x 0.3 x 0.3 cm. The tourmaline moniker "achroite" designates the VERY rare COLORLESS variety - so common in other crystals, but extremely unusual in tourmalines! This crystal starts out a delicate pink; then there is a band of bright grass green in the middle. Then, more than half of the upper part of the crystal is glass-clear! The whole crystal is gemmy from top to bottom.
4.9 x 3.2 x 2.2 cm. Lovely deep red Tourmaline that has a gemmy outer layer and a gorgeous color that reminds you of the famous Jonas Mine Tourmalines. The luster is excellent, and it even appears to be doubly-terminated. The lower termination has a chisel shape - mostly from the termination itself and partly from a healed contact. This is exceptionally red for the location, but it is so good that it really stands on its own merits.
6.1 x 0.9 x 0.7 cm. This is a CUTTER-quality, pure gem crystal of tourmaline from Brazil. It is FLAWLESS from top to bottom, with fine transparent bottle-green color. It has two terminations, which gives the crystal a lot of character compared to a straight prism. The luster is GLASSY, the terminations are perfect, and there are no contacts or damage. This fine crystal weighs 6 grams.
2.6 x 2.5 x 1.6 cm. A REALLY CUTE thumbnail of a gemmy and lustrous, two-toned green tourmaline crystal beautifully complimented by bladed, pearlescent cleavelandite from Stak Nala, Pakistan. This piece, most assuredly, is from finds 15-20 years ago. Ex. George Elling Collection.
3.4 x 0.7 x 0.7 cm. A fine gem crystal, pure gem material from top to bottom, of a superb bottle-green color, from the Pederneira. Complete, undamaged and beautifully terminated on top - with a fine glassy luster.
4 x .9 x .6 cm. A superb Tourmaline, this is about as good as it gets. The crystal is completely gemmy from its fine termination at the top down the healed bottom. The luster is glassy, and the color grades from indicolite blue at the termination to a gorgeous sky-blue down to an iridescent Kelly green. The few tiny dings and the little bit of rubbing at the termination have no impact on the aesthetics at all. This 5 gram crystal is fantastic! Ex. Steve Smale Collection.
2.6 x 1.2 x 1.0 cm. Actually a bit more bluish depending on what light you have it in, this is a pure gem crystal of tourmaline, terminated and complete all around. The termination has some mineral attachment. The crystal is absolutely transparent through the center, very light in color, with the color concentrated at the bottom and termination.
4.8 x 1.3 x 1.3 cm. A cutter-quality gem crystal of tourmaline from Brazil, which actually has an interesting color banding to it. The close-up shot you see is through the more spectral green section, which is actually a wide band between two sections of a vivianite-like bottle green. It has a fine, sharp pyramidal termination. Gemmy from top to bottom, this superb crystal weighs 16 grams.
9.1 x 1.0 x 0.8 cm. Yet another fine gem crystal, this one a long, slender and elegant crystal of a fine bottle-green color. It is extremely gemmy from top to bottom, with a good sharp termination on top. No damage or contacts, and has excellent luster. Weighs 18 grams, but has the impact of a much larger crystal due to its length.
3.5 x 0.5 x 0.4 cm (largest). A GEM of a two-piece deal from the famous Gillette Quarry! Here we have two gem yellow-green tourmalines, which are both terminated and pristine. The larger is REALLY GEMMY, as the photos show and is cutter quality. Classic, old-time material from the George Elling Collection. 10.05 carats or 2 grams total weight.
4.1 x 1.2 x 0.9 cm. Yes, the color of this crystal really is this magnificent in person - an uncanny deep maroon-pink combination! The crystal is complete, terminated, and absolutely gem pure, cutter quality. The termination is perfect. Glassy luster all around. Weighs 7 grams.
