5.2 x 2.9 x 2.4 cm. A very beautiful and aesthetic, triply doubly terminated, polychrome tourmaline crystal cluster from the Himalaya Mine. All three tourmalines, including the tiny one on the tip of the sidecar crystal are doubly terminated. The gemmy, striated bodies grade from a very pleasing pink to light green to nearly colorless at the terminations. One termination on the large crystal has the peculiar, very interesting, etched, columnar look. This is a visually impressive, older, unusually gemmy Himalaya tourmaline that is totally pristine and comes from the Steve Smale Collection.
A gorgeous crystal with the rich deep pink-red color the Stewart was famous for. Though it is still worked, such crystals are no longer being found and this is clearly old material that is highly desirable, even more so than the often-gemmier but paler red Himalaya Mine tourmalines 3.2 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm
6.0 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm. A pristine, gemmy and lustrous, dark green tourmaline with a sharp pyramidial termination and aesthetically wrapped in glossy, lavender lepidolite from recent finds at the Pederniera Mine of Brazil. There are three naturally healed fractures on this beautiful tourmaline.
2.7 x 2.3 x 0.4 cm. A gorgeous, gemmy, water-clear, vivid pink, polished tourmaline slice from the Himalaya Mine. The slice is lightly color-zoned, with the outer rind being a more intense pink. A classic, watermelon-pink tourmaline slice from this historic locale. Ex. Bill Larson piece I obtained in a trade. Weighs 23.60 carats.
7.0 x 1.5 x 0.8 cm. A fantastic, gem/gemmy, highly lustrous, rich blue-green color (with a minor pink zone at the base of the crystal), prismatic crystal group from the Pederneira mine in Brazil. The specimen is in wonderful condition, and is absolutely water-clear in areas. It has a beautiful, sharp, somewhat steep, pyramidal termination. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
3.2 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm. An old-time, classic and beautiful tourmaline from Newry, Maine. This gemmy and lustrous, sharply terminated, bi-colored crystal grades from pastel-green at the base to a pleasing teal-blue in the upper half of the crystal. The crystal is complete-all-around. A highly representative old-time specimen of the species and historic locale. Probably around 100 years old, because it came out of the Russell Jones Collection and was not from the modern era 1972 rediscovery of such crystals. Weighs 20 grams.
13.0 x 7.3 x 7.2 cm. This attractive matrix specimen of classic Peech tourmaline is perched in sparkling crystallized lepidolite matrix. The beautiful, pastel colored crystal measures 6 cm and sticks up dramatically.
2.8 x 1.5 x 1.1 cm. A fine, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored, teal-blue and green tourmaline with an interesting, steep, pyramidal termination. This is classic, older material from the Sao Jose da Safira area of Brazil and the Steve Smale Collection. Weighs 9 grams.
3.8 x 2.9 x 2.6 cm. A fine, 2.5 cm, "mushroom" tourmaline from Burma, with the characteristic "cap", in this case a gemmy pink color and typical black core. The tourmaline is perched on the side of a partially euhedral quartz crystal.
6.0 x 4.8 x 2.8 cm. A 5.5 cm, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored pink and pastel-green, doubly terminated tourmaline from recent finds at Peech, Aghanistan. The pristine, well-striated tourmaline is nicely set in matrix that is essentially a solid jackstraw mass of smaller tourmaline crystals with a bit of pink lepidolite.
4.0 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm. A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, "red-tip", polychrome tourmaline from the Cruzeiro Mine. The translucent, cranberry-red, pyramidal termination grades downward to a very gemmy, teal-blue to green at the base. This crystal is complete-all-around and pristine. This is classic, old, 1960s-1970s material from this renowned locale. Ex. Steve Smale Collection. Weighs 12 grams.
4.8 x 3.4 x 2.8 cm. A fine, 1960s era, watermelon tourmaline from the Santa Rosa Mine of Brazil. The gemmy and lustrous, green body has a cranberry-red core in the lower half of the crystal. Below the lustrous termination the crystal is teal-blue to blue to black. Weighs 100 grams.
The major crystal has a glassy, lustrous termination measuring 1.5 x 1.7 cm across. Ex. collection of Dallas collector Wally Mann. He obtained it over 15 years ago when the Houston Museum deaccessed some specimens locally from the Perkin and Ann Sams collection. 8.9 x 5.8 x 4 cm
This complete-all-around crystal is a whopper, and to get such a large piece without ANY repairs is incredibly rare. Note the glassy termination! The piece is a richly colorful specimen with vibrant green hues. Weight=716 grams 16.3 x 5.6 x 3.2 cm
A PERFECT 10! The piece has no damage, no repairs, and is a complete floater all around with all terminations present on both quartz and the pink elbaite. 8.2 x 7.7 x 3.5 cm
