8.4 x 5.3 x 3.9 cm. An OLD-TIME and showy specimen of dark brown eosphorite crystals surrounded by carbonatian apatite-(OH) on cleavelandite matrix from the renowned pegmatites at Newry, Maine. A glassy, green elbaite crystal on the end, next to the eosphorites is a very nice accent. Ex. George Elling Collection, Ex. John Albanese.
3.8 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm. Striking 28g Tourmaline of an excellent raspberry color and equally excellent luster. What is hard to appreciate in the pics, though so easy to see in person, is how very gemmy this crystal is from top to bottom and inside and out. The core is more of a light grey color, grading to raspberry on the outside and at the excellent termination.
2.8 x 1.9 x 1.8 cm Very nice example of the famous and recent mushroom-habit Tourmalines out of Mogok. This lovely toenail has excellent luster and form, and the deep cherry-red color is about as perfect as you could ask for. The quartz partially encases the 1.7 cm across Tourmaline, creating a nice aesthetic piece.
6.2 x 4.3 x 3 cm. Classic specimen from Madagascar of large (up to 1.8 cm) yellow Londonite crystals associated with Rubellite. The crystals are exceptional well-formed and large for the species.
9.6 x 4.8 x 4.2 cm. This is just an incredibly impressive tourmaline gem crystal - really quite huge for the Cruzeiro, which is known for its beautiful crystals, but rarely in this size - you can barely get your hand around it. This crystal weighs 271 grams! And, it is GEMMY THROUGHOUT - an intense, Jonas-like cranberry-red, with green at the termination. The crystal is complete all the way around, and has a fine termination.
4.9 x 0.7 x 0.7 cm. Just INCREDIBLE gemminess and clarity - a cutter-quality pure gem crystal out of the collection of Steve Smale, from Barra do Salinas. It is in pristine condition, with glassy luster and a perfect termination. Weighs 4 grams.
6.5 x 2.6 x 2.2 cm. Though the larger crystal here is not terminated (it was probably growing against the pocket wall), it is, as you can see, quite pretty and impressive! It is gemmy, mixing a bit of green with the predominant teal color. Ex. Elling Collection.
2.6 x 0.8 x 0.8 cm. A top-gem crystal of bottle-green tourmaline from the Pederneira - with glassy luster and a pristine termination - no wear, contact or damage anywhere.
5.4 x 2.2 x 1.6 cm. This is an old Alto Ligonha "watermelon" tourmaline out of the collection of Ed Harrison, circa 1960s-1970s. It is GORGEOUS and rich. The bottom half has a pink core with a green rind. The top, however, does not have this pink core, and is more towards a bluish-green. The crystal has a sharp, complete termination, and actually has a tiny tourmaline crystal embedded in it! Weighs 44 grams.
5.8 x 2.0 x 1.6 cm. As you can see, when you put good light behind/above this Santa Rosa Mine tourmaline, it is truly spectacular! It grades from a beautiful bluish-green at the bottom to an intense bright teal through its top half. It is gemmy from top to bottom! Fine termination, complete all around, no damage. Weighs 43 grams, so it is of good size as well!
12.5 x 7.0 x 5.7 cm. A DRAMATIC and UNIQUE tourmaline and smoky quartz CABINET specimen from the Gene Meieran Collection. A 6.0 cm, gemmy and lustrous, doubly terminated, gray tourmaline crystal with vivid, raspberry-red terminations rests diagonally and beautifully on a nearly pristine, doubly terminated, translucent, complex smoky quartz crystal. Gene Meieran helped fund a late 1980s mining venture here, and kept this as one of his finders choice pieces when they hit.
8.0 x 2.0 x 1.7 cm. A GORGEOUS, GEMMY and lustrous, vibrant pink tourmaline from the famous Santa Rosa Mine of Brazil. The pinacoid termination is slightly frosted although complete, but the area below is extremely gemmy in a stark visual contrast. This is definitely old-time material, seldom available today. The color is really a unique hue, both subtle and vibrant at the same time. From the well-known George Elling Gem crystal Collection. 48 grams.
1.7 x 0.2 x 0.2 cm, 1.4 x 0.3 x 0.2 cm, 1.1 x 0.3 x 0.2 cm, 0.8 x 0.4 x 0.2 cm. A rainbow of little gem tourmalines, all terminated, and with glassy clarity and high luster! All four are pristine and pure top gem.
1.9 x 1.5 x 1.4 cm. A beautiful partial Tourmaline crystal showing a vibrant popsicle blue color at the cap and a rich green shade below. There are several gemmy areas in the piece, and is rather lustrous. The crystal is not complete, but the color is outstanding.
5.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm. A gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmaline from recent finds at Coronel Murta, Brazil. The area below the classy, complex, pyramidal termination is extremely gemmy, emerald-green. The base of the crystal is a pleasing and contrasting salmon-pink. 20 grams.
