5.6 x 5.4 x 3.3 cm. This wonderful Namibian specimen of tourmaline crystals with smoky quartz crystals is a matrix-free floater! What is more, all but one of the terminations on the tourmalines is complete, and all the smokies are complete and doubly-terminated as well! The tourmalines range up to 4.8 cm in length, and are a deep gemmy green with pink at the tips.
3.0 x 0.8 x 0.8 cm. A unique and unusual watermelon tourmaline from Afghanistan. This is a very gemmy and lustrous, pink-cored crystal with yellow to lime-green outsides. 4 grams.
11.3 x 1.8 x 1.6 cm. A very showy, CABINET-SIZED, highly lustrous and striated tourmaline from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The crystal is very dark green, but it is the sidecar crystal termination, that catches your eye. The gemmy and lustrous, rose-red termination is followed by a beautiful, blue-green indicolite zone.
6.2 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm. A HIGHLY UNUSUAL and excellent, multi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. This old-time piece has good lustre and gemminess and has a matte green termination, grading downward to pink, to rose-red to olive green. The lustrous smokies on the side are exceptional. Weirdly, on the back, are a 2nd generation host of very gemmy and lustrous, parallel-growth, light green tourmaline crystals. A truly uncommon and showy Himalaya combo piece. Ex. George Elling Collection.
11.0 x 7.5 x 5.8 cm. Emerald-green, gemmy and lustrous pencil tourmalines to 4.5 cm are aesthetically embedded on and in this IMPRESSIVE CABINET smoky quartz crystal from the Pederneira Mine. Yes, this large, euhedral smoky crystal is partially frosted and etched, but it is SO DRAMATIC.
8.7 x 1.9 x 1.4 cm. A GORGEOUS, gemmy and lustrous, two-toned tourmaline crystal from Pech, Afghanistan. The body is a beautiful, intense green grading upward to very gemmy, pink, "cityscape" termination. 32 grams.
2.3 x 2.0 x 1.6 cm. These are some of the most famous Tourmalines in the world. This specimen is a very good quality thumbnail consisting of gemmy pink, lustrous crystals with green terminations. There is minor associated Microcline in between the two Elbaite crystals. Ex. Kosnar Collection.
6.7 x 3.6 x 3.1 cm. A BIG, FAT, terminated tourmaline crystal form the Cruzeiro Mine, ex. Elling Collection. It has a crenellated termination with an almost spongy appearance. The crystal weighs 135 grams, so it is quite sizeable. It has a translucent green exterior wrapped around a pink core.
3.2 x 3.1 x 2.4 cm. A Himalaya tourmaline crystal with a RARE association of translucent stilbite bowtie crystals! The stilbites grew right on top of the fine, flat crystal termination. The crystal itself is classic Himalaya in pink color and translucency, though with a chunky, truncated form. It weighs 37 grams.
6.7 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm. Tourmalines with blue caps have a mystique all their own, probably because of the famous ones that came out of California and have become super-valuable. The Sappo Mine produced some a few years back, and of course they are long gone. This is an unusual example from the Cruzeiro Mine. The lower part has the typical gemmy green rind wrapped around a pink interior. But the cap is a bright teal blue! And, the crystal has a fine, two-tiered termination! Weighs 26 grams. Ex. Elling Collection.
6.3 x 2.7 x 2.6 cm. A wonderful tourmaline specimen out of the Obodda collection. What makes this Nuristan elbaite particularly aesthetic is the matrix that remains attached and really accents the crystal wonderfully. The crystal itself is terminated on the top end, and is a wonderful gemmy green, with a bit of pink right at the bottom.
3.0 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm. A SUPERB gem crystal of tourmaline from Afghanistan - absolutely top quality! It is super gemmy, grading from pink at the bottom, to bright grassy green in the middle, then back to pink at the termination. It has an excellent multiple termination. The crystal is complete all around and uncontacted; fine glassy luster, too. This terrific crystal weighs 23 grams.
7.6 x 1.4 x 1.4 cm. A large and impressive gem crystal of tourmaline from the Elling Collection. It is complete, terminated and undamaged. The crystal has two different hues of green, from a more bright and spectral green to a bottle-green towards the termination. Very good luster. Weighs 32 grams.
10.8 x 7.4 x 7.4 cm. A SIMPLY STUNNING, one-of-a-kind tourmaline and quartz CABINET specimen from Stak Nala. The tourmalines have SUPER gemmy terminations, unusual for Stak Nala tourmalines. The doublet tourmaline in the front is the RARE and desirable, pink varietal. The huge milky quartz is highly lustrous, has a razor-sharp termination, front and back, with only the slightest edge wear. The white, bladed cleavelandite is a very nice accent. There is even a tiny, orange spessartine garnet to add color. Almost certainly a 1980s piece.
3.3 x 1.3 x 1.1 cm. A KILLER, GEM, tri-colored tourmaline from the famous Santa Rosa Mine. The base is a rose color, grading upward to a beautiful blue-green to the bright, raspberry-red termination. This is a choice, old-timer from this famous mine. 9 grams.
