A beautiful and showy Tsumeb specimen of lustrous, translucent, colorless calcite rhombs included with dioptase and highlighted by four calcite-covered malachite balls. This is a VERY FINE sculptural, two-sided specimen with very little damage. 8.8 x 5.4 x 5.3 cm
Lustrous and gemmy, green dioptase crystals to 7 mm are nicely sprinkled on lustrous, colorless to gray, translucent calcite crystals from the Type Locality in Kazakhstan, Altyn Tyube. The large, doubly terminated calcite crystal really adds pizzazz to this piece. 6.3 x 6.0 x 3.9 cm
A beautiful, extraordinarily rich plate for the locality with rich, deep color and truly wonderful glittery lustre - BETTER IN PERSON! I have had specimens this large before, but not with such coverage and color saturation. This is major for the locality! 8 x 7.6 x 3.5 cm
Gemmy, extremely lustrous, bright green crystals of dioptase to 2 cm make this a great miniature. Some diptase specimens are simply "green" and some GLOW with green, riveting color. This is the latter. It presents as an incredibly flashy display face, with just minor damage to secondary crystals and none to the major crystals despite their size. This specimen is highlighted by several large crystals, the largest of which, is 2 cm across, and is doubly terminated. I would say that this piece epitomizes the very best of the species in miniature size, and is a very affordable example for the quality. 5 x 2.6 x 2.6 cm
Dioptase with lustrous and gemmy crystals on quartz matrix. Large, doubly terminated 2 cm dioptase crystal. 5.5 x 4.9 x 3.8 cm
Deep green crystals of dioptase (cameras have a hard time with the color, which is Tsumeb-like in this specimen). The largest crystal measures 1 cm. There are some missing crystals along the sides, but they do not overly detract. This is still a wonderful piece with huge show value and a reat richly crysatllized area. the pics stink, so it will be more impressive in person.... 5.1 x 4 x 2.5 cm
A thumber of bright green, lustrous dioptase from Tsumeb. The pic makes them look dusty or coated, but they are not at all. Though the crystals are small, they have the classic color and luster. 3.1 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm
The type locality for dioptase is NOT Tsumeb, but Altyn-Tyube in Kazakhstan. Here is a pretty mini from there, with several crystals over a centimeter in length! The color is hard to capture in pics - in reality, it is a fine deep green, very Tsumeb-like. 3.8 x 3 x 1.9 cm
An exceptional mini of Tsumeb dioptase, with LARGE crystals (one of them, a perfect rhomb, is over a centimeter long) of superb luster and fine color, on a bed of calcite. 3.6 x 3.3 x 2.1cm
A WHOPPER plate of sparkling green dioptase crystals! Though the crystals are not particularly large, they measure up to about half a centimeter and are NOT just a "druse" by any standard! What''s more, the color is a superb bright green (much better in person - dioptase is notoriously hard to shoot - these crystals have the best color and are actually quite gemmy!). There is very little bruising, most of it at the periphery. Quite a showpiece in person - MUCH more impressive than the photos which are small anyhow 11.5 x 8.5 x 4.5 cm
A FINE miniature of Tsumeb dioptase, with top color, and relatively large, sharp crystals (to 0.6 cm) intergrown in a delicate cluster with very little matrix. The pics show the quality, sharpness and fine articulation of the individual crystals in this piece. Nice shiny luster, too! 4.0 x 2.9 x 2.8cm
What I love about this dioptase thumbnail is how the crystals are clustered in two blooms atop a contrasting dark matrix - making it so much more beautiful than just a cluster of crystals with no matrix. 3.0 x 2.6 x 1.2cm
A pretty thumber of very bright, lustrous crystals of dioptase, of a fine deep green color. 2.4 x 2.2 x 1.4cm
Beautifully gemmy and lustrous, emerald-green dioptase crystals to 4 mm line a vug in matrix filled with lustrous, transparent, colorless calcite rhombs to 1.0 cm from Tsumeb. 4.3 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm
A very sculptural and aesthetic specimen of light, powder-blue chyrsocolla matrix with a vug containing gemmy and lustrous dioptase crystals to 8 mm and water-clear, transparent quartz crsytals from the less well-known Kaokoveld Mine in Namibia. The upper portion of the chrysocolla matrix looks like a horses neck and head. Uncommon material in this quality. 7.0 x 4.0 x 2.3 cm
