3.0 x 2.5 x 1.6 cm. Dioptase is known from a few world localities in superb quality specimens, but recently there was a find of new material in the Pool Region of the Congo. These specimens show great color, with larger sized crystals and excellent gemminess. This particular specimen is comprised of very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, rich emerald green color Dioptase crystals on minor matrix forming a very attractive overall specimen. This find seemed to be somewhat limited, and hopefully will produce more specimens.
5.0 x 4.7 x 3.6 cm. The largest crystal measures 1.3 cm. This find seemed to be somewhat limited, and hopefully will produce more of this fine Dioptase.
11.7 x 7.0 x 3.4 cm. Morenci Mine and Arizona dioptases are difficult to obtain, in general, in large and fine specimens such as this. This cabinet plate is covered with sparkly emerald-green and blue-green dioptase microcrystals on small, radial-growth clusters on the undulating surface. Old material.
4.9 x 2.7 x 2.7 cm. Dioptase is known from a few world localities in superb quality specimens, but recently there was a find of new material in the Pool Region of the Congo. These specimens show great color, with larger sized crystals and excellent gemminess. This particular specimen is comprised of very sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich emerald-green color Dioptase crystals measuring up to 1.9 cm on matrix forming a very attractive overall specimen. This find seemed to be somewhat limited, and hopefully will produce more of this fine Dioptase.
3.8 x 3.1 x 2.2 cm. An exquisite combination piece of Dioptase laced with a line of fine, lovely blue Plancheite. The Dioptase, the largest of which is 2 cm, have superb color and excellent luster. Ex. Charlie Key.
8.5 x 8 x 4.5 cm. A fabulous plate of solid Dioptase crystals from the Brazzaville (Reneville) locality. All the Dioptase crystals are sharp, gemmy, and lustrous. The largest are about 1.4 cm in length, and there are several in that size range. A fine specimen from a classic old find. Ex. Charlie Key.
2.5 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm. A fine thumbnail of three superb Dioptase crystals on a Quartz matrix. Each has fabulous luster and color and set together in an attractive cluster. The largest of the Dioptase crystal is about 1.3 cm. Ex. Charlie Key.
10.0 x 6.1 x 2.3 cm. Dioptase is known from a few world localities in superb quality specimens, but recently there was a find of new material in the Pool Region of the Congo. The best of these specimens show great color, with larger sized crystals and excellent gemminess. This particular specimen comprises very sharp, highly lustrous, small, rich emerald green color Dioptase crystals forming a "green blanket" over the gossan matrix. This find seemed to be somewhat limited, and hopefully will produce more of this excellent quality Dioptase soon.
6.5 x 5.5 x 4.6 cm. Gemmy and lustrous, rich emerald-green dioptase crystals richly cover the quartz matrix on this specimen from the Type Locality - Altyn-Tyube in Kazakhstan. The dioptase crystals reach 1.9 cm on this piece. The color and quality of these dioptase crystals is better than average for this locale. This is a highly representative example of the species and famous locale.
3.2 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm. Dioptase is known from a few world localities in superb quality specimens, but recently there was a find of new material in the Pool Region of the Congo. These specimens show great color, with larger sized crystals and excellent gemminess. This particular specimen is comprised of very sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich emerald green color Dioptase crystals measuring up to 1.4 cm. This find seemed to be somewhat limited, and hopefully will produce more of this fine Dioptase.
5.1 x 3.3 x 2.8 cm. Gemmy and lustrous, rich emerald-green dioptase crystals richly cover the quartz matrix on this specimen from the Type Locality - Altyn-Tyube in Kazakhstan. The dioptase crystals reach 1.5 cm on this piece. The color and quality of these dioptase crystals is better than average for this locale. All of the crystals are pristine on this sculptural piece. This is a very highly representative example of the species and famous locale.
5.8 x 4.9 x 3.2 cm. Super-sparkly, gemmy and lustrous, emerald-green dioptase microcrystals richly fill the vuggy matrix on this fine specimen from the Tsumeb Mine. The dioptases are nicely accented by colorless, calcite microcrystals. Highly representative material from this renowned locale. Ex. Wesley Stark Collection.
5.6 x 3.1 x 1.6 cm. A sparkling, bright specimen with sugary dioptase drusy crystals sprinkled upon stark white, equally sparkling, calcite rhombohedra. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
8.7 x 4.5 x 4.0 cm. Dioptase is known from a few world localities in superb quality specimens, but recently there was a find of new material in the Pool Region of the Congo. The best of these specimens show great color, with larger sized crystals and excellent gemminess. This particular specimen is filled with sharp, rich emerald green color Dioptase forming a very attractive, three dimensional piece. This find seemed to be somewhat limited, and hopefully will produce more of this fine Dioptase.
5.1 x 3.7 x 2.2 cm. Dioptase is known from a few world localities in superb quality specimens, but recently there was a find of new material in the Pool Region of the Congo. These specimens show great color, with larger sized crystals and excellent gemminess. This particular specimen is filled with sharp, rich emerald-green color Dioptase forming a very attractive, three dimensional specimen. The largest crystal measures a full 1.8 cm, though it is not fully terminated (on back of specimen as shown here). This find seemed to be somewhat limited, and hopefully will produce more of this fine Dioptase.
