DESPU-01 - Despujolsite - $ 750 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.5 x 0.3 x 0.2 cm
A sharp single crystal of intense, great color. Sharp at both ends, this is a little jewel in person.
DESPU-02 - Despujolsite - $ 1250 N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.8 x 0.6 x 0.2 cm
A remarkable flattened crystal showing a pseudohexagonal form, and exquisite finely serrated edges. This piece is nice because it gives the illusion of being a matrix specimen due to inclusions (manganese?) at its base, forming a natural pedestal for the competition-quality crystal atop.
DESPU-03 - Despujolsite - $ 600 N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.6 x 0.6 x 0.3 cm
Sharp single crystal, with great terminations at either end. (and again, small here is all relative - this is 1000 times better than any previously known!)
DESPU-04 - Despujolsite - $ 1800 N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 1.3 x 1.1 x 0.3 cm
One of the largest crystals in the lot, with a huge presentation face and intense coloration. Terminated on about half the edges, contacted on the rest, it nevertheless displays well and is of museum caliber in terms of its importance.
DESPU-05 - Despujolsite - $ 2000 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 1.4 x 0.6 x 0.3 cm
A complete floater crystal with SHARP terminations on each end, this is surely one of the more significant crystals here. It features extreme elongation , not common to the other specimens. The core is transparent while the tips are included by a red mineral that we believe to be dendritic manganese. Superb , important thumbnail crystal !
DESPU-06 - Despujolsite - $ 2500 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 1.1 x 0.4 x 0.2 cm
A remarkable flattenned crystal showing a pseudohexagonal form, and exquisite fine serrated edges. Note that these are spectrum sensitive and the photos show the piece under both halogen (moss green color) and under fluorescent (brighter apple-green color) lighting.
DESPU-07 - Despujolsite - $ 750 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.8 x 0.6 x 0.4 cm
A fat, rather chunky crystal with INTENSE color and saturation, probably suitable for cutting a gem from.
DESPU-08 - Despujolsite - $ 900 N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.8 x 0.4 x 0.2 cm
A remarkable flattenned crystal showing a pseudohexagonal form, unusual in such good presentation. The bottom is included with another mineral, possibly manganese.
DESPU-09 - Despujolsite - $ 500 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.8 x 0.6 x 0.2 cm
A thin, totally transparent windowpane crystal with serrated, but complete, edges. Gorgeous gem example of this new find.
DESPU-10 - Despujolsite - $ 1500 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 1.3 x 0.8 x 0.4 cm
A fat, very gemmy crystal with intense color and good 3-dimensionality!
DESPU-12 - Despujolsite - $ 1500 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.9 x 0.4 x 0.4 cm
A superb, very fat, 3-dimensionaly crystal with particularly intense color saturation as a tradeoff for translucency. VERY impactful on display!.
DESPU-13 - Despujolsite - $ 2400 N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 2.1 x 1.6 x 0.5 cm
A rare matrix specimen, sadly one of only a few recovered when the miners scraped out this pocket. The elongated, very fine crystal atop is 1.5 cm long. It is fully terminated and displays well.
DESPU-14 - Despujolsite - $ 4500 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 1.8 x 1.7 x 0.6 cm
A rare matrix specimen, sadly one of only a few recovered when the miners scraped out this pocket. This larger specimen (for the find) displays better in person as it is hard to capture all the angles and reflections in the photo here. It has a dozen good crystals, many to 1 cm, on manganese gangue matrix. This is teh richest single specimen we know of from the find , to date.
DESPU-15 - Despujolsite - $ 1250 N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 1.4 x 0.8 x 0.4 cm
A rare matrix specimen, sadly one of only a few recovered when the miners scraped out this pocket. Absolutely gemmy, transparent crystals to 6mm decorate this pedestal of manganese gangue matrix. In person, its very sharp and pretty. The crystals here are among the most transparent in the lot.
DESPU-16 - Despujolsite - $ 1200 SOLD N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa thumbnail, 0.8 x 0.3 x 0.2 cm
A fat, 3-dimensional crystal with intense color saturation
