JR-5 - Demesmaekerite with Uranophane (??) - $ 295 SOLD Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Western area, Shaba Cu belt, Shaba (Katanga), Congo (Zaïre) miniature, 4.3 x 3.9 x 2.9 cm
Superb, unusually large Demesmaekerite crystals with micro-crystalline yellow mineral in association. (6 mm crystal). At a guess, the micro-sized acicular yellow crystals are almost certainly Uranophane but this has not been analyzed to prove it and they may be somethign more rare

MD-201042 - Demesmaekerite, Chalcomenite - - Archived Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Western area, Katanga Copper Crescent, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre) miniature, 4.3 x 2.3 x 2.5 cm.
4.3 x 2.3 x 2.5 cm. Here is a good specimen of the rare uranium selenite Demesmaekerite associated with blue Chalcomenite crystals. Musonoi is the type locality for Demesmaekerite (there are only 2 localities known). Chalcomenite is the rare copper selenite and is known from less than 30 localities worldwide, few in good crystals. Demesmaekerite is usually associated with the other uranium selenites and not often with Chalcomenite. These specimens where found during the removal of the uranium dump in the early 1990’s.
MD-214946 - Demesmaekerite, Guilleminite, Digenite - - Archived Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Western area, Katanga Copper Crescent, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre) miniature, 4.1 x 3.1 x 2.4 cm.
4.1 x 3.1 x 2.4 cm. An interesting combination specimen hosting two very rare selenites, Demesmaekerite and yellow Guilleminite. The Guilleminite is micro crystalline but the Demesmaekerite is present in well formed crystals: Some are free standing and reaching 1 mm. The combination is almost unheard of. The matrix is composed of Malachite and Selenium-rich Digenite. This mineral is the source of the selenites in Musonoi. This specimen was recovered during the removal of the U-dump in the early 1990’s. Musonoi has ceased producing minerals since then. Note that Musonoi is the type locality for both species.
