A remarkably sculptural old Michigan copper, with two parallel “branches” rising up off a natural “base” of matrix. Fine antique patina. 6 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm
This is a unique specimen of intergrown copper and cuprite forming a large stalactite, with crystals of both seemingly intermixed but with cuprite the predominant mineral showing on the surface. The color is thus a deep red hue in good lighting, and it is much more attractive than appears in the photos. The piece is complete all around and 3-dimensional! It came out of the first collection of Dr. Ed David. 10.5 x 3.7 x 2.6 cm
An EXTREMELY RICH, old-time and sculptural silver-copper "halfbreed" from the famous Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Most halfbreeds are less much less than 50% silver, but this hefty piece is at least 75% silver and weighs 49 grams. This fine piece was formally in the collection of George Robinson, currently curator of the Seamann Mineral Museum at Michigan Tech. This is the second and last "halfbreed" piece, that we obtained from George Robinson. It is also the MUCH MORE sculptural of the two. 5.2 x 3.1 x 1.7 cm
An AESTHETIC, lustrous and pristine, multi-faceted, bright copper-in-calcite scalenohedron on a bit of matrix with green epidote and a very narrow seam with a stray, tiny silver wire or two from the famous Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. A different perspective to this beautiful, old-time piece is given with each bit of rotation. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 3.4 x 2.7 x 2.3 cm
A superb herringbone "feather" of completely crystallized copper from Russia. The Itauz Mine pieces are amongst the finest crystallized coppers that have ever come along. 3.8 x 2.2 x 0.6cm
An aesthetic, sculptural and undamaged floater specimen of arborescent, spinel-twinned copper crystals from the famed Broken Hill deposit of Australia. The longest copper crystal is 3.0 cm. The partial red cuprite coating adds a very nice distinctiveness to this very fine, old piece from the upper oxidized zone. 5.4 x 5.0 x 4.1 cm
These sensational crystallized coppers from Russia are no longer coming out in these gorgeous herringbone "feathers" - we were lucky to have stashed some away, as they are truly remarkable copper specimens! 4.2 x 1.2 x 0.2cm
A beautiful, spinel-twinned copper crystal spearpoint with a very nice patina from the famous Ray Mine of Arizona. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 3.6 x 1.0 x 0.5 cm
This is a natural nugget of copper from the glacial drifts in Michigan. As a glacier moved across the copper district during the Ice Age, it scraped this copper from the earth and then deposited it as a nugget. This 3.2-ounce nugget has been polished on one side to show off its penny-bright luster, which contrasts beautifully with the antique patina in the recesses. The other side has been left natural. 5.2 x 3.9 x 1.3 cm
A large, wonderfully sculptural arborescent copper specimen out of the Hauck Collection. Beautiful branching form, and a wonderful antique patina. 12.4 x 6.4 x 0.7 cm
A fabulously intricate copper specimen from Russia, completely crystalllized, with branching form and little spinel twinned crystals all over it. No more of this wonderful form have been coming out of the Itauz! 5.5 x 4.8 x 1.6 cm
A showy, old-time specimen of a highly lustrous, copper in calcite scalenohedron on matrix with silver, epidote and prehnite. A portion of the calcite crystal termination is cleaved and contacted, but this remains a highly representative Copper Country classic combo piece. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 6.2 x 4.3 x 3.0 cm
An aesthetic specimen of an elongated, spinel-twinned copper crystal spearpoint with attached, flattened copper crystals. The piece looks like a jet fighter and is from the less well-known Mufulira Mine of Zambia. This piece probably came out in the late 1960s. 3.2 x 2.1 x 1.2 cm
This is a natural nugget of copper from the glacial drifts in Michigan. As a glacier moved across the copper district during the Ice Age, it scraped this copper from the earth and then deposited it as a nugget. This 3.4-ounce nugget has been polished on one side to show off its penny-bright luster, which contrasts beautifully with the antique patina in the recesses. The other side has been left natural. 5.2 x 3.8 x 2.0 cm
Calcites to 1.5 cm richly included with copper, which you can see clearly through the translucent crystals. This is a Michigan classic that is hard to get your hands on! MINOR bruising. 8.5 x 7.0 x 5.0 cm
