Copper from Itauz Mine, Zhezqazghan Oblysy (Dzezkazgan Oblast'; Dzhezkazgan Oblast'; Djezkazgan Oblast'; Jezkazgan Oblast'), Kazakhstan [db_pics/mdpics/MD-40557a.jpg]

These superb crystallized coppers from the Itauz Mine are not coming out anymore. This is from an old stash we have from when they were available. After these came some bushy and not so pretty ones. But as you can see here, this older form is crystallized from top to bottom, with beautiful dendritic form. If you do not have one, better get one while you can. 4.9 x 4.9 x 1.6 cm

A large specimen of penny-bright copper from Arizona, with a pretty, sculptural form. Not wimpy and thin, but actually rather substantial. Some bits of matrix remain trapped in the copper. 11.1 x 8.7 x 4.8 cm

Copper from White Pine Mine, White Pine, Ontonagon Co., Michigan, USA [db_pics/mdpics/MD-40644a.jpg]

An EXTREMELY AESTHETIC White Pine Mine copper specimen with very bright, dentritic and massive aspects. This sculptural piece really displays nicely. The main dentritic portion is nearly perpendicular to the massive copper base. The patina is much better, than the photos show. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 7.0 x 5.4 x 5.0 cm

A superb, entirely crystallized copper specimen, no longer coming out in this form from the Itauz Mine. When these came out, they shocked mineral collectors with their elegance and beauty. They have quickly carved out a place amongst the finest crystallized coppers around. 5.4 x 4.9 x .4 cm

Copper from Osceola, Houghton Co., Michigan, USA [db_pics/mdpics/MD-41060a.jpg]

A LARGE, though elegant and slender, floater branch of crystallized copper from Michigan. Note the fine antique patina, and the wonderful crystal form all along the branch. VERY impressive and pretty! Much better in person, where you can see how 3-D it is. 14.1 x 4.8 x 1.6 cm

Copper from Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia [db_pics/mdpics/MD-41101a.jpg]

You just don''t see that many Tsumeb copper specimens on the market, depsite the abundance of copper ores that came out of the mine. This is a pretty thumber of dendritic form, with a beatiful antique patina. 3.1 x 1.9 x 1.7cm

Copper, Cuprite from Itauz Mine, Zhezqazghan Oblysy (Dzezkazgan Oblast'; Dzhezkazgan Oblast'; Djezkazgan Oblast'; Jezkazgan Oblast'), Kazakhstan [db_pics/mdpics/MD-41319a.jpg]

You have seen the fine crystallized coppers that have until recently been coming from this mine in Russia, but here is a specimen with sharp cuprite crystals (to 0.6 cm) embedded amongst the branches of copper! What is more, the specimen sits on a natural "base" of matrix, very uncommon for these Itauz pieces. A very uncommon and desirable specimen. 5.5 x 4.0 x 2.2cm

Copper from Zhezqazghan Oblysy (Dzezkazgan Oblast'; Dzhezkazgan Oblast'; Djezkazgan Oblast'; Jezkazgan Oblast'), Kazakhstan [db_pics/mdpics/MD-41363a.jpg]

What an ELEGANT and sculptural specimen of crystallized copper from the Itauz Mine, which has produced such beautiful specimens recently, but as of last year only produced a less attractive bushy sort of specimen and then stopped producing any specimens at all, at least for now. These coppers are truly world-class! 5.6 x 4.7 x 0.8cm

Silver, Copper, Calcite from Houghton Co., Michigan, USA [db_pics/mdpics/MD-41404a.jpg]

A showy and excellent old-time specimen from Michigans Copper Country of sharp, euhedral silver crystals perched on well-defined copper crystals in a vein with several lustrous copper-in-calcite crystals to 1.5 cm. The silver and copper crystals look like vertebrae. The quartz-rich matrix adds nice contrast. The piece comes with a 1941 Wards label. The back of the specimen has been partially reinforced with glue, but not repaired. This is a very fine combination piece. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 5.6 x 4.5 x 4.0 cm

A large and spectacular crystallized Michigan copper, from the Gillespie Mineral Museum in Florida by way of an odd peregrination! The big, fine, chunky crystals on this specimen measure to over 4 cm, with a beautiful sheen and sharp faces. Just a really impressive old Michigan piece! In person, it is even more 3-dimensional and dramatic. 12 x 11.5 x 4 cm
