A fine copper miniature from the classic Bisbee locality, crystallized from top to bottom, back and front! Old Bisbee pieces have become rarer and rarer with each passing decade and , despite the tonnage of copper ore mined at the locality, have always been rare even at the source. I bought these four specimens from the briefcase of an Arizona collector who brought them to the show. 4.5 x 2.5 x 2.1 cm
An elegant copper miniature from the classic Bisbee locality, completely crystallized. Old Bisbee pieces have become rarer and rarer with each passing decade. I bought these four specimens from the briefcase of an Arizona collector who brought them to the show. 5.2 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm
This is an unusually fine, seafan-like, large, and completely crystallized specimen of copper from the classic Bisbee locality! Old Bisbee pieces have become rarer and rarer with each passing decade and , despite the tonnage of copper ore mined at the locality, have always been rare even at the source. I bought these four specimens from the briefcase of an Arizona collector who brought them to the show (Evan Jones). 6.8 x 5.4 x 2.1 cm
This is a really sharply crysatllized copper miniature of unusual elegance, from the classic Bisbee locality, crystallized from top to bottom, back and front! Old Bisbee pieces have become rarer and rarer with each passing decade. I bought these four specimens from the briefcase of an Arizona collector who brought them to the show (Evan Jones). 3.4 x 2.8 x 1.8 cm
A very rare locality copper from the noted Steven Chamberlain Collection, acquired by him in 1982 from Carousel Minerals at teh East Coast Federation show. The copper has been etched out of calcite to better expose it, and consists of minute arborescent crystals. 8.3 x 5.9 x 2.8 cm
There are very sharp and well-defined spinel-twinned crystals of silver to fully one centimeter in length growing in a fine, sculptural form, and this “sculpture” is perched on a natural “base” of copper. These are VERY SHARP for teh species and locality, all the more so in person. A SUPERB specimen which would be quite a fine specimen just as a Michigan silver, never mind the copper “base” that makes it a more rare and desirable combo! Looks like an artist put this piece together! I cannot emphasize enough the quality of the piece. 6.5 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm
A half-“skull” of crystallized copper that shows a gently curved form. The dendritic (branchlike) form makes this piece very delicate and sculptural. 11.5 x 6 x 1 cm
A very large, very impressive and quite beautiful Michigan copper, with distinct, large crystals, gorgeous branching forms, and an antique patina that accents it in many areas. Both sides of the specimen are quite fine! Weighs over 2 pounds (almost a kilo), so a really substantial specimen to have such graceful form! It is, i will say, BETTER IN PERSON 17.2 x 10.7 x 2.5 cm
An exquisite, delicate old Nevada copper, beautifully crystallized all around, with elegant elongated crystals branching off from the center. 4.6 x 2.7 x 1.7 cm
An elegant, arborescent crystallized New Mexico copper, with a fine antique patina. 7.7 x 6.5 x 3.0 cm
A wonderfully aesthetic old Michigan copper thumbnail that looks like a flower, with the two spinel twin crystals capping it. In fact, the whole specimen is nicely crystallized, and has a pretty antique patina. 3.1 x 1.8 x 0.7 cm
This is a competition-quality miniature from an important, classic, historic locality! This copper has many things going for it: Great form and natural chocolatey patina, spinel twinning, and an innate beauty. For its size, this is one of the best and most intricate copper specimens I have ever seen. 3.8 x 3 x 2.6 cm
Dendritic or tree like, this completely crystallized copper exhibits a bright, natural patina, which adds to the overall aesthetics. 8.3 x 4.7 x 0.3 cm
The size and form of this arborescent copper specimen is outstanding. The dendritic growth along with the patina, which alternates with bright color, gives this specimen a fern –like appearance. For copper collectors and/or collectors of minerals from the Keweenaw peninsula, this one is a must. 14.8 x 10 x 1 cm
14.4 x 6.8 x 4.8 cm. Spectacular brick-red coloring, caused by cuprite, really enhances the rich patina of this amazing, old-time copper specimen from the well-known Copper Falls Mine of the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Difficult to describe, this is certainly one of the more unusual Copper Country copper forms, that I have seen. There is also a fair amount of malachite, calcite and quartz encrustations on parts of the specimen, which adds to the character of the piece. Ex. Ernie Schlichter Collection.
