9.8 x 6.8 x 0.6 cm. An AESTHETIC latticework of stout, cuprite-coated copper crystals from the famous Phoenix Mine of Michigan. This is an outstanding, OLD-TIME, Copper Country specimen. The pleasing red color enhances the multitude of copper crystal forms, which includes some very long spinel-twins, along with delicate-looking, arborescent tetrahexahedral crystals. A very showy two-sided specimen.
2.3 x 1.8 x 1.3 cm. Here is a wonderful thumbnail size specimen of the famous pseudomorphs of Copper after Aragonite from Corocoro. These floater specimens are well known from Bolivia for their great form and color, and this piece has the classic and unique form that has made these pieces some of the most well known and highly sought after pseudomorphs around. This specimen is a very fine example of this material. There hasn’t been any significant amount of these specimens on the market in approximately 25 years, and they are often only found in old collections. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
3.2 x 2.6 x 1.7 cm. This is quite a showy Ajo Copper. The piece is comprised of several bright modified (somewhat skeletal) crystals in a snake-like form. A beautiful display piece of this classic material. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
21.5 x 20.5 x 18.5 cm. A huge, 8.7-pound specimen of native copper from classic Michigan copper country - extracted and left as-is! This is a very thick vein in the shape of two wings. You can see the matrix rock embedded with the copper. It has penny-bright luster that is actually a lot prettier and better in person.
5.1 x 5 x 1.6 cm. A very attractive Native Copper specimen consisting of delicate highly lustrous Copper encasing crude crystals of copper up to about 1 cm. This piece is sculptural and aesthetic.
21 x 17 x 3 cm. An excellent, and very large, sculptural plate of native Copper. The patina is very good and the overall aesthetics very pleasing.
4.0 x 3.0 x 2.0 cm. It is rare to find coppers from the Itauz Mine on matrix. This brushy copper is intricately crystallized, and sits on a natural "base" of matrix.
2.5 x 2.4 x 1.3 cm. Ex. Brian Kosnar.
18.4 x 15.4 x 3.4 cm. A BIG, sculptural, impressive specimen of crystallized copper from the Copper Country of Michigan, out of the Hauck Collection. It has a Joel Arem label on the back (he was author of several major mineral and gem books). This whopper specimen shows crystallization all over, is complete all around and a pretty "antique" patina.
5.2 x 4.2 x 1.8 cm. An unusual copper country specimen featuring 2 isolated, sharp, distinct silver crystals perched upon a large and hefty "mass" of copper that appears crystalline on the surface but in an odd flattened manner. Such a separation, with such stark contrast, of the two elements is uncommon.
2.6 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm. Spherules of velvety green malachite pseudomorphous after copper partially enclose colorless crystals of gemmy and glassy cerussite, to 1.0 cm in length. The process which allows malachite to replace copper in nature is very rare. Neat combination piece! Ex. Charlie Key.
14.5 x 10.8 x 4.5 cm. A dramatic, showy and old-time CABINET copper specimen from the famous Copper Country of Michigan. The upper half consists of striking, isolated, parallel-growth, spinel-twinned copper crystals with nicely contrasting matrix. The entire piece has a beautiful coppery patina. This piece has a fine provenance, having been in the Neal Yedlin (label on the back) and Richard Hauck Collections.
1.5 x 1.4 x 1.3 cm. There hasn't been any significant amount of these specimens on the market in approximately 25 years, and they are often only found in old collections.
15.3 x 9.0 x 5.3 cm. A DRAMATIC and sculptural LARGE CABINET copper specimen from the Copper Country of Michigan. This branching, anthropomorphic-looking copper consists of sharp, intergrown copper crystals with a very nice coppery patina. It looks like a stylized ancient Greek or Minoan figure. Classic, old-time material from a historic district.
8.7 x 3.7 x 1.8 cm. A VERY FINE, SUPER RICH and SHOWY specimen of bright, micro-dendritic copper in a sawed, transparent gypsum cleavage from the Mission Mine of Arizona. Old and very choice material. Such thick windowpane slices with such rich forests of copper inside are almost never available! In person, looking at the internal meshwork, you can see how mesmerizing this is and why it is such a classic. Ex. Stoudt Collection.
