Conichalcite from Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico [db_pics/mdpics/MD-60640a.jpg]

This piece is one of the better Conichalcites I''ve seen from Ojuela. There is a great coverage of beautiful, deep gree, spherical crystal groups of Conichalcite on Limonite matrix with some minor Gypsum on the reverse side of the piece. It is a great display specimen from the classic Mexican locality. Not very common from Ojuela either. 9.2 x 7.5 x 5.5cm

Conichalcite from Park City, Park City District (Unita District), Wasatch Mts, Summit Co., Utah, USA [db_pics/mdpics/MD-61200a.jpg]

A showy, excellent, old-time and UNCOMMON specimen of green, botryoidal conichalcite richly covering vuggy, gossan matrix from the famous Park City District of Utah. Conichalcite is RARE from Park City and the scattered edgewear is barely noticeable on this very fine piece. The base has been sawed to enhance display and the old label was originally glued to the specimen. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 7.1 x 5.2 x 3.8 cm

A classic, old-time specimen of forest green conichalcite covering matrix from the famous Gold Hill District of Utah. The piece comes with a faded, old Ward"s label. A bit of bruising does not detract from this highly representative specimen. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 7.2 x 4.6 x 4.1 cm

Conichalcite, Calcite from Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico [db_pics/mdpics/MD-65643a.jpg]

A vug in the limonite matrix is the host for a layer of rich green, almost velvety, botryoids of conichalcite, to .5 cm across. This is a calcium, copper, arsenate. Secondary growth of colorless, lustrous, translucent, rhombs of calcite, to 2.0 cm across, has nearly filled up the remaining space in the vug. Good combo and super color contrast! 6.5 x 5.5 x 5.4 cm

This specimen is small in size but large in stature. The white Calcite matrix is liberally coated sharp acicular balls of light green Brochantite along with smaller spherical acicular Conichalcite that ranges from light to olive green. As a bonus, there is a tiny and gemmy dioptase crystal tucked in a small vug in the base. Such a an excellent specimen, no matter how you size it. On a limonite matrix is a drusy crust of lustrous, botryoidal, imperial jade green, conichalcite, a calcium, copper arsenate. The color is absolutely mesmerizing. Superb specimen of the species from a locality I normally do not expect to see but a smear of it from.

A very rare example of conichalcite in discrete crystals (botyoids, rather), from this mine: the piece features 1mm spheres of dark green conichalcite, an uncommon, calcium, copper arsenate. They are festooned over a matrix of white dolomite. Rare! Ex. Marty Zinn collection

Emplaced aesthetically on a knob of contrasting sparkly dolomite matrix are lustrous , dark green spheres to 3 mm across, of conichalcite. This is an uncommon, calcium, copper, arsenate and it is rare in the form of such isoalted crystals or crystal aggregates as you see here (forming little ballshaped growths). This lovely specimen is double sided and can be exhibited in more than one display angle. From the original collection of Marshall and Charlotte Sussman, sold in 2003.
