CORN11 - Chalcophyllite - $ 2500 SOLD Carharrack, Cornwall, England miniature, 5.5 x 4.3 x 3.8 cm ex. Eric Asselborn ex. Jean Behier
Cornwall is the classic locality for this species, though specimens are rarely seen today. Here we have an extremely rich specimen with gorgeous color, and pockets of pristine crystals running through it. This has some of the bet color and richness I have seen, particularly given the overall balance of the specimen (this update is, I think, full of such unusually aesthetic pieces!). It was almost certainly found in the mid to late 1800s

MD-171822 - Chalcophyllite, Olivenite - - Archived Carharrack, Gwennap area, Camborne - Redruth - St Day District, Cornwall, England, UK small cabinet, 5.4 x 4.4 x 4.0 cm.
5.4 x 4.4 x 4.0 cm. Lustrous, emerald-green to turquoise-blue chalcophyllite plates richly cover the vuggy, quartz-rich matrix on this fine, old-time specimen from the famous mines of Cornwall, England. A portion of the vug is lined with dark green olivenite microcrystals. Classic material from this renowned locale. Ex. Jean Behier Collection, a well-known French exploration geologist and collector of the mid-1900s. Certainly this would have been most likely to come out in the heyday of the mines here, and is likely over 100 years old, but no proof. In any case, it's an excellent example similar to the historic material from here you see in old books.
MD-185403 - Aragonite, Chalcophyllite - - Archived Corocoro, Pacajes Province, La Paz Department, Bolivia thumbnail, 1.6 x 1.6 x 0.9 cm.
1.6 x 1.6 x 0.9 cm. This locality is known for its unique pseudomorphs of Copper after Aragonite, but this "floater" specimen features a non-pseudomorphed pseudo-hexagonal crystal of beige Aragonite which is associated with rarely seen bright blue Chalcophyllite crystals.

This crystal has the sharp form and riveting blue color for which Cornwall became famously known. Such fine examples, all more than 100 years old, are hard to come by. This is a superb specimen for crystal size, well displayed on matrix. Ex. Mark Feinglos Collection.

The mines of Cornwall are among the most classic localities in all of Europe, and Chalcophyllite is one of the most distinctive and coveted species for collectors. Chalcophyllite is certainly uncommon around the world, and Cornwall produced the most classic and well known specimens in history. Fine specimens of this material are few and far between these days. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
MD-40658 - Chalcophyllite - - Archived Braden Mine (Teniente Mine), El Teniente, Rancagua, Cachapoal Province, Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region, Chile small cabinet, 5.6 x 4.6 x 3.1 cm
A rich piece for the locality with dozens of lustrous, flattened crystals of the rare copper species Chalcophyllite. The surrounding malachite and the bit of azurite add to this exceptional piece. Bright, turquoise-green chalcophyllite crystals richly cover matrix on this EXCELLENT, OLD-TIME specimen from Chile. An old, 1963, University of Chicago label misidentifield this as spangolite , not recognizing it because it is so good for the locality one would presume! Beautiful, rare, specimen 5.8 x 4.6 x 3.2 cm
