4.3 x 3.1 x 2.4 cm. A superb, incredibly blue, glassy, transparent gem crystal of the rare copper selenide chalcomenite, 3mm across, in a protected vug. Ex. Philadelphia Academy of Sciences Collection.

4.3 x 2.3 x 2.5 cm. Here is a good specimen of the rare uranium selenite Demesmaekerite associated with blue Chalcomenite crystals. Musonoi is the type locality for Demesmaekerite (there are only 2 localities known). Chalcomenite is the rare copper selenite and is known from less than 30 localities worldwide, few in good crystals. Demesmaekerite is usually associated with the other uranium selenites and not often with Chalcomenite. These specimens where found during the removal of the uranium dump in the early 1990’s.

1.8 x 1.3 x 1.3 cm. A specimen of chalcomenite, a rare by-product of oxidation of primary copper minerals (CuSeO3•2(H2O). It is only ever seen in fairly tiny crystals. At this locality, it results from the oxidation of krutaite.
