Cerussite from Touissit, Touissit District, Oujda-Angad Province, Oriental Region, Morocco [db_pics/mdpics/MD-143221a.jpg]

3.5 x 2.3 x 1.1 cm. A beautiful heart twin of highly lustrous cream-colored Cerussite. The small amount of trivial dings along the upper edges does not detract at all from the beauty of this piece. This is 3-dimensional, incredibly equant and well-formed, and basically pristine except to the most careful eye. A classic, rarely seen so nicely formed. Ex. Charlie Key stock.

7.0 x 4.7 x 2.5 cm. An UNUSUAL and SHOWY Tsumeb pseudomorph of multi-shaded yellow mimetite needles pseudomorphing a large cyclically-twinned cerussite crystal. There is just a bit of cerussite left at the top, which is neat. A fine Tsumeb pseudo.

Pyromorphite, Cerussite from Daoping Mine (Tangping Mine), Gongcheng City, Gongcheng Co., Guilin Prefecture, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China [db_pics/mdpics/MD-146938b.jpg]

13.5 x 6.5 x 3.9 cm. A rich specimen from a heralded find about a year ago, exciting for this association of two lead minerals. Here, you have a rich field of light green crystals of pyromorphite, with a row of flat, reticulated white crystals of cerussite that have grown in a shallow recess. There was not a lot of this material, and the cerussites were usually far less aesthetic than these - usually sort of formless lumps. So this is quite a good specimen for this find.

5.7 x 3.7 x 2.2 cm. Glassy, smoky cerussite crystals nicely situated in a vug with complimentary, botryoidal velvet malachite on this showy specimen from Tsumeb. The two cerussite crystals have extremely sharp faces and the bit of contacting is certainly not a detraction. A showy Tsumeb combo piece.

6.1 x 5.0 x 2.0 cm. A sculptural, 3-dimensional crust of tiny, flattened, tan/faint pastel-pink dolmite rhombs highlighted by a very well-placed, 1.0 cm, spear-point cerussite crystal. Showy and excellent material from Tsumeb.

4.3 x 3.8 x 2.7 cm. An EXCEPTIONAL and RARE Tsumeb pseudomorph of grayish-white anglesite after cyclically-twinned cerussite crystals. This is an OLD-TIME Tsumeb piece, definitely from the upper oxidized levels of this famous and now-closed mine. This super fine rarity is mounted on an Ed Swoboda Competition Case lucite base with label (as he exhibited into the 1980s).

5 x 2.9 x 1.9 cm. A gemmy and highly lustrous set of complex intergrown Cerussite crystals perched on a plate of attractive Baryte blades. The Cerussite hints at the beginnings of cyclic twinning, and it has excellent yellow-green fluorescence. The crystal on top is 1.6 cm across. A very good Mibladen Cerussite.

3.4 x 3.4 x 3.4 cm. It is EXCEEDINGLY difficult to obtain these Tsumeb cerussites that have the purity and gemminess to have the look of fine leaded cut glass, as this one does. You may have seen one such crystal (admittedly, in a totally different class!) on the cover of the recent Tsumeb book that is in the Houston Museum, with this sort of clarity. They actually throw off spectral colors - and that is not surprising, since cerussites have high lead content just as fine leaded crystal does. This crystal has formed a complete glassy pane that is complete back and front and all the way around, except for contact along one side (or bottom, depending on how you display it) where the specimen was removed from the host rock. But the main crystal portion is not damaged, in any case.

Malachite, Cerussite from Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia [db_pics/mdpics/MD-154618a.jpg]

6.3 x 5.4 x 2.7 cm. An old-time, showy pseudomorph from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb. Light green malachite coats a botryoidal, 3-dimensional matrix that is dominated by a centrally located by a 2.7 cm long malachite pseudomorph after azurite crystal. The broken tip of the pseudo reveals the pseudomorphing azurite crystal. The matrix is very cerussite-rich and the specimen is nicely accented by a tiny, V-twin cerussite crystal and field of tiny cerussites. OLD and CLASSIC Tsumeb material from the upper oxidized zones, formerly in the Harvard and George Elling Collections.

Cerussite from Blackwood open cut, MMM Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia [db_pics/mdpics/MD-154669a.jpg]

5.0 x 4.5 x 4.2 cm. An outstanding, 3-dimensional cluster of pearlescent, lustrous, off-white, arrowhead cerussite crystals from Broken Hill, Australia. The accompanying label states that the piece was collected in 1894 and is from the MMM Mine. Specific mine locality information is not that common for old Broken Hill material! A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME specimen from the William Hiss Collection and is very nearly pristine.

3.3 x 3.1 x 1.8 cm. An old-timer Coeur d’Alene cerussite (which mine we are not sure), consisting of several intergrown, translucent crystals with reticulated form. A lot harder to find than fellow lead-mineral Idaho pyromorphite, these days. Ex. John Ydren Collection.

5.0 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm. Although not very colorful, this specimen represents a rarity in Tsumeb combo pieces. Black, massive ore hosts two cyclic twinned, gemmy and glassy cerussite crystals to1.0 cm in length side by side with acicular crystals, some doubly terminated, of light yellowish-tan, gemmy mimetite to 1.0 cm across.
