2.4 x 1.9 x 1.1 cm. A really fine, cyclically-twinned, starburst, cerussite thumbnail. This complete all-around specimen is essentially pristine and is from the Rob Smith Collection. The longest spoke, outside the frame on the left, is also complete.
5.2 x 4.7 x 2.1 cm. An excellent, very showy, two-sided specimen festooned with lustrous, "wet-look", light apple-green pyromorphite prisms to 7 mm from recent finds at the Daoping Mine of China. The little, projecting, tassel cluster of crystals is a very nice accent. The thin crust of oxide-covered cerussite is just loaded with pyromorphite prisms. Cerussite is rare from this locale.
6.7 x 6.3 x 3.1 cm. An excellent crust of crinkly/crusty, two-toned green, primary malachite on a bit of sparkly cobaltoan dolomite that also hides a couple of glassy cerussite crystals. This is a very nice surprise on the back. Primary malachite of this style is uncommon from Tsumeb and this is a rich specimen. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.
8.9 x 8.4 x 8.4 cm. An old-time, very rich and showy combination specimen from the Tsumeb Mine. Finely reticulated, snowflake cerussite crystals artfully cover one side of the specimen. The matrix is solid, banded, botryoidal smithsonite of various colors and the back is the apple-green color varietal. This is a very fine and highly representative Tsumeb combination piece from the upper oxidized zone of this renowned locale.
3.1 x 2.4 x 1.4 cm. A classic, glassy, cyclically-twinned cerussite crystal nicely perched upright on a shard of matrix from the Tsumeb Mine. The front is pristine. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.
6.0 x 6.0 x 4.3 cm. An excellent and rich example of jackstraw clusters of pearlescent cerussite crystals filling all sides of the box-work gossan matrix. This specimen features cerussite crystals up to 1.9 cm in length. Old time specimens like this from the famous Flux Mine are seldom seen today. Ex. Mullane Collection.
2.7 x 2.6 x 1.7 cm. A rare and showy thumbnail specimen of lustrous, tan, parallel-growth cerussite blades filling a well-place vug in matrix from the Elkhorn Mine of Montana. This is excellent, old-time material from this historic mine and seldom available. The Elkhorn Mine is the subject of an extensive article in a recent issue of Rocks and Minerals. Ex. Dick Jones Collection.
5.9 x 5.1 x 3.1 cm. A fine, upright pair of malachite pseudomorphs after sharp, blocky azurite crystals from the Tsumeb Mine. The frontal faces of all the pseudomorphs are pristine, as are the terminations of the upright crystals. The specimen is richly sprinkled with glassy, reticulated cerussite crystals, which are a very nice accent. Classic, old-time material from this noted locale and the Rob Smith Collection.
5.3 x 4.8 x 1.7 cm. An unusual and fine crust of pearlescent cerussite crystals on oxide-coated smithsonite crystals from the Tsumeb Mine. Some of the elongated, scalenohedral smithsonite crystals are quite gemmy and there is even a gem, 9 mm, cyclically -twinned cerussite crystal hidden on the side of this piece. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.
A fine, large, single cerussite crystal from Tsumeb, with attractive chevron striations - with good transparency and complete all around. There is a small ding at the tip and others on some edges, enough to bring down the value I admit but not enough to detract much in terms of visual display 4.5 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm
These large, fine mimetite crystals caused quite a stir when they came out in China a few years ago. For form and size, they really are quite impressive. This specimen features three fine crystals to 1.6 cm. It can be trimmed should you wish a smaller specimen overall. 11 x 5.5 x 4 cm
Miniature. Lustrous azurite crystals are next to malachite pseudomorphs after azurite crystals; some azurites are half pseudomorphed to malachite; and lustrous, colorless cerussite crystals are nicely scattered amongst the azurite and malachite crystals.
3.7 x 2.5 x 1.7 cm. A classic, old-time, jackstraw cluster of pearlescent cerussite crystals from the Flux Mine of Arizona. This is a wonderful, two-sided piece nicely accented by the bit of gossan matrix. Ex. Jaime Bird Collection.
Beautifully formed, translucent and lustrous V- and cyclic-twinned cerussite crystals nicely set on a plate of contrasting limonite matrix from Tsumeb. 5.5 x 3.7 x 1.7 cm
A lustrous, transparent to translucent cerussite sixling twin, with a bit of mottramite and a tad of matrix . THIS IS THE CLASSIC twinned form from Tsumeb! However, they are usually pretty pricey, at any size. Trivial, trivial damage to crystal edges, which are barely noticeable, do detract a little from value. 3.5 x 3.3 x 2.0 cm
