This specimen is comprised of two pairs of twins. Each blade is complete, and exhibits the high adamantine luster that is so desirable for the species. This is classic form, but rare in such quality for morocco!

This specimen has an unusual type of cerussite with discrete coloration due to chromium rich content, and the sharp crystals reach .7 cm across. In person, they are a bit more yellow than appears here. Studded on the cerussite are bright orange prisms of crocoite, to .3 cm across. Rare and unusual material to begin with but in association with crocoite...this I have only but once before seen for sale! For some reason, the cerussite and crocoite zones seem to not overlap often. This is an old piece, though I do not know how old. Ed thought 30-40 years.

A truly antique Tsumeb piece from the very earliest workings at the mine, judging by both Carnegie's lifetime and by the nature of the piece. The specimen features a 5-cm (2-inch) reticulated cerussite perched atop heavy matrix. The cerussite looks complete from the front but is actually missing a spoke on the upper-right of the crysatl, and this is admittedly visible from the side (hence the low price on such a large and historic Tsumeb rock!).

This is a tremendously complex specimen with 3-dimensional cerussite crystals shooting out everywhere, all of it miraculously pristine and undamaged save one little tip. No matter how this matrix specimen is displayed, it is wonderful. It is extremely lustrous with a literally adamantine glow (I have not seen a higher lustre on cerussite before), and it is quite translucent. Unusually colored a dark smoky hue, probably caused by minute inclusions of galena, nearly all of the crystals (to 3.5 cm across) appear to be cyclic twins. For such a soft mineral species, it is nearly pristine, which again I find remarkable given the exposure here. This is a superb example of a fine Tsumeb cerussite but you can get "superb" cerussites for high prices any day. More than that, its REALLY unusual in overall aspect and geometry as a mesmerizingly complex matrix specimen, and this is a feature hard to obtain in any price range. "Smoky" cerussite of this quality is particularly rare.

This cerussite, cyclic twin, is highlighted by a large, spearpoint crystal, measuring 3.0 cm in length. The color of the crystals is gray with good adamantine luster and some translucence. Nothing fancy, just a really neat piece for the equant, sharp geometry of that main termination.

This gemmy and glassy cerussite is colorless and remarkably, can be displayed properly on either side. This is a fine example of cyclic twinning but its so rare to get this form comobined with such incredible clarity and colorlessness. This piece is almost a floater, save only a small narrow contact on the bottom edge. Superb miniature, one of two obviously from the same pocket that are nearly identical and were kept in the collection. This is slightly the more elegant of the two in my eyes.

This gemmy and glassy cerussite is colorless and remarkably, can be displayed properly on either side. This is a fine example of cyclic twinning but its so rare to get this form combined with such incredible clarity and colorlessness. This piece is almost a floater, save only a small narrow contact on the bottom edge. Superb miniature! Only very trivial bruising on one crystal tip keeps this specimen from being pristine. This one is slightly more robust than its brother piece, above.

Unusual and Preferentially etched, this cerussite specimen has a slightly smoky-beige color and good translucence. The large crystal, 3.0 cm in length, has only fair luster due to the etching, which is uncommon in cerussite.

Perched upon a sliver of contrasting matrix, this specimen of colorless, gemmy and glassy cerussite features two types of twinning, both cyclic and reticulated. The largest crystal measures 1.0 cm across and this along with the other crystals exhibit adamantine (diamond like) luster. A jewel of a miniature!

A sparkling, vivid green carpet of intergrown crystals of glassy and gemmy, forest green, cuprosmithsonite serves as the backdrop for what looks like sharp creatures floating in the sea of green... Nearly covering the cuprosmithsonite are twinned crystal clusters of reticulated cerussite with a stark white color, both lustrous and translucent. They are to 1.1 cm across. I can identify V-twins, reticulated complex growths, snowflake, twins, and cyclic twins all on the same specimen. A spectacular combination of species and colors! The association is rare to begin with, and this, as a cabinet piece, is really just unexpected.

One of the rarest occurrences at Tsumeb is when chalcotrichite, the fibrous phase of cuprite, includes other minerals. Here we have a shockingly contrasting green malachite matrix which has encased an etched cerussite crystal 3 cm across. The cerussite has a reddish-orange color and fine luster. Rare and very unusual in this size, and on any kind of matrix at all!

WOW...the pics pretty much say it all here...This is a CLASSIC of 1960s and 1970s Tsumeb, so rare to find in such good form, so well preserved from damage (which is trivial in this case), and so aesthetic!
