7.7 x 5.8 x 4.7 cm. Here is an unusual piece with sharp, translucent crystals to 2 cm, quite different from the normal sharp hexagonal forms we consider so typical of this locality.
7.9 x 6.0 x 4.6 cm. A very sculptural specimen with a classic hexagonal, translucent calcite crystal perched atop matrix. The crystal measures 3.5 cm across and is very 3-dimensional, and complete all around.
8.3 x 7.4 x 3.2 cm. Sharp crystals to about 1.5 cm, showing another classic hexagonal style for Andreasberg.
7.0 x 5.2 x 4.3 cm. A beautiful locality specimen with sharp gemmy sphalerites to 6 mm on drusy, sparkling calcite, all atop large fat milky quartz points.
5.8 x 5.0 x 3.7 cm. A significant rarity, platy yellow leadhillite crystals on a matrix of sparkling white calcite, from this classic, old Italian locale.
8.0 x 6.5 x 3.3 cm. A rich, lustrous specimen of sharp galena crystals accented by siderite and sparkling calcite, from this classic locality.
The camera could not capture the incredible luster and unbelievable complexity of the faces on these crystals – like cut glass! This array of compound crystals has just enough matrix to set it off nicely. It is almost pristine on front - there is a cleave on top that does not detract much in context though it IS there if you look for it, and otherwise its in good shape. 11.5 x 6.5 x 6 cm
A super example of the classic twinned calcites from India that really give you so much bang for the buck these days. It has a cluster of two interpenetrating twins overarching a third , rhombohedral crysatl that forms the base of the specimen. It is complete all around save for a small, clean cleave at the top of the piece. 7 x 7 x 6 cm
Where many Bou Azzer cobaltoan calcites are virtually opaque, this one consists of a thick TRANSLUCENT crust of beautiful bright pink on a knob (the back side of the specimen looks like the back side of those Uruguayan amethyst knobs, showing concentric deposition). There are reflective micro-faces all across the surface of the half-dome crystals. 4.8 x 4 x 2.2 cm
A pristine Tsumeb specimen of a lustrous, off-white dolomite stalactite studded with lustrous, transparent and colorless stepped calcite rhombohedrons. This specimen looks MUCH BETTER IN PERSON. 5.7 x 3.1 x 2.2 cm
7.3 x 6.9 x 5.8 cm. A 5.5-cm crystal of lustrous, golden calcite juts off a matrix covered with a bed of small milky dolomite rhombs. A smaller calcite is on the other side of the specimen. Ex. Feist Collection.
3.6 x 3.2 x 2.8 cm. The cobaltoan calcites coming from Morocco have been so nice over the past 3 years - some of them, like this one, have just the most intense hot pink color. These are tightly intergrown, nicely transparent crystals with pyramidal terminations that have a lot of sparkle to them.
5.1 x 2.4 x 1.6 cm. A very aesthetic specimen - two stalactites of calcite have grown right next to one another, becoming attached by a second generation of sparkly little calcite crystals that glitter all over the surface.
6.9 x 5.4 x 4.3 cm. A splendid mushroom-shaped bloom of pastel-pink calcite, which gets it color from manganese content. The crystals taper down and are actually terminated underneath. On top is a single large pyramidal termination, along with dozens of sub-terminations that together form a curved surface, with a nice gleam to it.
11.9 x 9.2 x 4.8 cm. A very unusual Dal’negorsk manganoan calcite, in that the crystals are intergrown with straw-like crystals of white aragonite. The calcites have pretty pastel pink color and fine luster, and are in the form of gently curved rhombohedrons.
