8.4 x 6.4 x 5.9 cm. A beautiful combo of a golden calcite crystal rising right beside a razor-sharp galena crystal positioned just right on the matrix. The smaller "sidecar" crystal is cleaved, but it is really not important in the context of the specimen as a whole.
3.6 x 3.4 x 3.3 cm. These gemmy Iowa calcites are NOT common on the market, which is sad, because at their best they really rival something you would see from Dalnegorsk - here, two super-gemmy scalenohedrons intergrown in a sculptural way. The matrix was trimmed just right to show them off without any damage to the crystals themselves. A wonderful U.S. calcite, superb quality for this or ANY U.S. locality as far as calcites go. Better in person!
5.1 x 3.7 x 1.9 cm. These glassy calcites are richly included by blooms of gorgeous, velvety blue-green aurichalcite! The cluster is aesthetically isolated on a matrix of limonite. A very unusual and beautiful Mapimi piece.
10.4 x 9.4 x 4.1 cm. A large plate of beautiful peachy crystals of dolomite, speckled with little chalcopyrites. At the edges of the specimen are two transparent calcite crystals with brassy chalcopyrites clearly included inside!
9.2 x 8.8 x 6.7 cm. Manjiroite and todorokite are RARE to uncommon hydrated manganese oxides. This exceptionally rich and showy specimen consists of bedded, dark gray, lamellar manjiroite altering to todorokite with really neat-looking vugs lined with glassy calcite crystals. Some of the lamellar manganese oxides are chatoyant! A nifty and unusual specimen from the Willy Israel Collection, who purchased this excellent piece from well-known dealer Clive Queit in 1986.
5.2 x 5.0 x 3.8 cm. An aesthetic and classic Pachapaqui, Peru combination specimen of a pink, sail-like cluster of parallel-growth, extremely flattened, manganoan calcite rhombs beautifully upright in a bed of lustrous, milky quartz needles. The calcite rhombs are pristine and there is very little damage to the quartz needles. Showy and excellent material from the Chris Korpi Collection.
2.5 x 2.5 x 1.9 cm. A lustrous, limpid fluorite crystal with beautiful pastel-green color zoning and nicely perched on casted calcite from the Julcani District of Peru. An excellent thumbnail from the Sam Nasser TN Collection.
2.6 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm
2.4 x 1.8 x 1.1 cm. From one of the two most "classic" European silver localities - a tight mass of well-defined wires of silver, with an "antique" patina. Not a world-class Kongsberg silver, but a good representative specimen of a valued and hard-to-find locality piece for a thumbnail collector.
12.2 x 6.4 x 5.2 cm. A classic old Tri-State combo piece that has it all: a large, waxy, complete and doubly-terminated calcite crystal associated with brassy chalcopyrites and little galena cubes, on a matrix of dolomite.
8.6 x 5.9 x 4.9 cm. A STUNNING cluster of light pink crystals of manganoan calcite (the manganese gives the crystals their pretty pink hue). What makes them particularly attractive is the blanket of yellow/tan calcite wrapped around the bottoms of the crystals, with the pink terminations sticking out. No damage or contacts, and all terminations are complete. Fluorescent orange-red in UV light.
8.5 x 6.9 x 5.5 cm. A tight cluster of quartz crystals given a rusty-red tint from inclusions of hematite, and a surface sparkle from microcrystals of calcite. From Russia - ex. J.R. Glover collection. Richard Hauck Quartz Collection specimen.
11.9 x 3.9 x 3.3 cm. You can see the twinning plane very clearly running right down the middle of this fine, sharp and large twin from the Sweetwater Mine. Both terminations are sharp and complete. There is only a small matrix contact on the back lower side. Ex. Joe Kielbaso Collection.
21.9 x 16.8 x 6.5 cm. From out of the collection of Ed David - a huge plate of spectacular calcite crystals that have been richly included by red hematite - not coated, so that they retain their shiny luster, but have this rich red color to them! The crystal forms are various distortions of the rhombohedron. The matrix has a layer of sparkly calcite microcrystals, also richly included with hematite.
14.6 x 7.2 x 5.1 cm. A HUGE, pristine, doubly terminated and twinned, amber calcite crystal from the famed Tri-State District. This highly lustrous beauty has gemmy terminations, both of which, are damage-free. The back is contacted, but is out of sight. A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME CABINET specimen from the Ed David Collection.
