A large plate with waxy-lustrous, beige polder crystals richly covering an undeerlaying matrix of bright and sparkly calcite! It is hard to get such nice large plates in good condition! This was found 5-6 years ago and I can say that large plates of the calcite intermix are particularly hard to come by, as they were snapped up for the beauty of the contrast. The poldervaartite in this style and association is not red like the styles shown above, but the calcite association makes up for it and gives quite a different look to the specimens in terms of visual appeal. 15.0 x 11.7 x 3.0 cm
A beautiful, truly sculptural specimen with finely filigreed crystals of kutnahorite in curving rows and layers twisting upon each other. Extremely dramatic example of this style, as I think the pics convey! Usually this style is labelled simply as kutnahorite, but there is probably some manganocalcite mixed in as well (its a series) in the underlaying , less crystallized platelike layers upon which the finely filigreed crystals rest. 6.6 x 4.4 x 2.6 cm

Usually this style is labelled simply as kutnahorite, but there is probably some manganocalcite mixed in as well (its a series) in the underlaying , less crystallized platelike layers upon which the finely filigreed crystals rest. I think these are among the most biological-looking of mienral specimens! 7.2 x 5.3 x 4.5 cm
5.8 x 4.2 x 3.2 cm. An EXCELLENT and SHOWY, 3-dimensional Tsumeb specimen RICHLY covered with gemmy and lustrous, emerald-green dioptase crystals to 8 mm on a beautifully contrasting matrix of off-white calcite rhombs.
4.3 x 3.8 x 3.4 cm. Sadly, the mining of these appears to be FINISHED. This fascinating specimen formed when gemmy calcite crystals grew in the natural pocket formed by a buried fossil clamshell. The interior of the shell is now completely covered with these fine, golden crystals. Not many fine collector specimens come from Florida, of course!
6.6 x 4.8 x 3.2 cm. A glowing, doubly-terminated, complete 5-cm crystal of calcite beautifully CROSSED with a smaller crystal, perched perfectly atop the matrix!
6.6 x 4.2 x 3.5 cm. Look at this complete, GLOWING crystal of calcite from Bakersfield, California - very uncommon on the market, and this is a really large and excellent one, complete on top (the contact is on the bottom), with a pretty "tiered" structure to it. It sits on just the right amount of accenting matrix. Hard to find, from a California collector.
10.0 x 4.9 x 4.8 cm. Three intergrown crystals on matrix, translucent, with creamy yellow color and fine luster. All of the terminations are intact save one at the periphery of the specimen (the two "main" ones that stick up are intact and perfect). Ex. Feist Collection.
15.4 x 10.2 x 8.8 cm. Two GIGANTIC, translucent calcite crystals, with hematite coloring selectively on the faces on one side, giving this specimen an amazing presence and emphasizing its strange scaly faces! This is not, as some Chinese specimens are, from a big find with lots of pieces available, but is quite unique and specimens like it are certainly not widely available; in fact you will not see anything like it with any Chinese dealers these days. This large showpiece came out of the collection of Ed David.
10.6 x 7.2 x 6.6 cm. Two sharp, pristine calcite crystals, with rusty red color tinting from hematite inclusions, sit aesthetically side-by-side on the matrix. The larger measures 5 cm. The big crystals are accented by smaller ones on the matrix around them. This beautiful piece has the collection label with it from the former owner, who apparently bought it in May of 2006.
5.7 x 3.2 x 2.5 cm. A GORGEOUS and AESTHETIC, gem, doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystal from the famous and now-closed Elmwood Mine. The single and double terminations, with beautiful amber color, are a striking contrast. The center of the crystal, at the twin plane, is nearly colorless. A CLASSIC Elmwood calcite crystal form and color.
21.7 x 15.9 x 7.7 cm. A TON (well not literally but not far off) of big, lustrous, bright pastel pink crystals of manganoan calcite from Eastern Europe! (It is manganese that gives the calcites their pink color.) The crystals have flashing pyramidal terminations, and a tiered structure down their sides.
20.9 x 13.0 x 8.9 cm. This BIG specimen is amazing not just for the beauty of the combination of species, but for the calcites themselves. They grew in two completely different forms, on the same specimen: scalenohedrons, and flat nail-head crystals. Some of the crystals are part one and part the other - just incredible from a crystallographic standpoint! The crystal grew part-way up then rose to a pointed termination in one area, with the rest of the crystal continuing up to a flat top that wrapped itself around the point of the scalenohedron!!
20.1 x 12.8 x 8.6 cm. Look at the incredible form of these crystals - stacked in tiered towers the lean out in all directions! The specimen has a very slight pink tone from manganese. A BIG specimen, and magnificent by any standards.
3.3 x 1.9 x 1.9 cm. A beautifully gemmy and lustrous, 1.1 cm, emerald crystal attractively set on the side of a grayish-white calcite cleavage from the famous Muzo Mine of Colombia. The crystal has great green color intensity and the faces are very lightly frosted. The upper 2 mm of the crystal is particularly gemmy. Highly representative of the species and locality.
