3.6 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm. A resplendent set of Hematite crystals with a gemmy calcite crystal rising beautifully out of the Hematite, all on a Calcite base. The Hematites have a lovely and interesting complex form, and superb mirror-like luster. The largest of the crystals is 2.3 cm across. Ex. Charlie Key.
A spray of gemmy aqua crystals, the majority of them well terminated, on a bit of matrix with calcite crystals. Gorgeous! 4.7 x 3.6 x 3.4 cm
This is a stunning Illinois calcite with delicate sprays of snow-white celestite that have grown on the calcites. The calcites are razor-sharp, undamaged, and have a really pretty amber-orange color. The specimen stands up perfectly - just by luck (it is not sawn). An exceptional Cave-in-Rock piece. 8.2 x 6.3 x 4.2 cm
3.2 x 2.7 x 2.2 cm. A fine toenail composed of a lemon-yellow 1.3 cm Ettringite crystal, along with gemmy micro-Ettringites, on doubly-terminated calcite with Andradite. There are also needles of a dark mineral (hematite?) along the bottom side. The major Ettringite crystal has a well-formed hexagonal habit and excellent luster. An excellent, and very aesthetic, combination thumbnail. Ex. Charlie Key.
An unusual Bisbee calcite, a floater cluster featuring intergrown flat, disc-like hexagonal crystals coated with an iron mineral to give it a pretty pattern of darker edges against orangey faces. Moderately contacted on the two ends, and some bits of wear, but overall has a fine display face. 5.3 x 3.6 x 2.7 cm
Classic Sweethome calcite, very sharp and pretty, balanced on a bit of matrix! ex. Dr. Gary Hansen dealer stock and not shown since early 1980s. 7 x 3.6 x 2.6 cm
A rather large and chunky example of calcite from this long-defunct classic US locality. It has some bruisign and edge wear but is still impressive. The larger crystals overgrow internal scalenohedral phantoms. ex. Dr. Gary Hansen dealer stock and not shown since early 1980s. 10.7 x 7.1 x 6.1 cm
Lustrous butterscotch-colored mimetites erupting from a contrasting matrix of stark white calcite rhombohedra! Nice! ex. Dr. Gary Hansen dealer stock and not shown since early 1980s. 4.4 x 3 x 2.5 cm
A VERY sharp calcite twin of exceptional gemminess. It is so gemmy you can read through it! The main term is perfect and the other termination is "technically" terminated in that it grew around another crystal that is now missing and so is considered a contact and not damage per se. Very high lustre on this specimen, too! ex. Dr. Gary Hansen dealer stock and not shown since early 1980s. 5 x 3 x 3 cm
An unusually aesthetic cluster of large anhydrite crystals from this locality that seems to no longer produce them. These are unusually fat crystals and they are draped with a glistening coat of sparkling calcite that adds style and makes it most unusual. Old classic! ex. Ken Roberts dealer stock. 6.2 x 4.1 x 2.2 cm
A beautiful and aesthetic cluster of lustrous and transparent colorless, complex rhombohedral calcite crystals included with an unknown mineral from Tsumeb (melanotekite perhaps?). The large crystals are nicely set at the top of the specimen. 4.6 x 3.5 x 2.8 cm
10.0 x 8.0 x 2.5 cm. A striking, old-time cabinet specimen of sculptural, water-clear gypsum variety selenite cleavage enclosing dogtooth and pearl spar calcite crystals from a classic New York locality - Lockport in Niagara County. Ex. Mullane Collection and comes with an old Bradley’s label with a January, 1952 date.
13.5 x 8.0 x 5.0 cm. A most unusually shaped cave calcite stalactite from Bisbee. This old-time cabinet specimen of lustrous, translucent, light tan to colorless calcite has a very elongate, knobby/botryoidal form that looks like a duck’s foot. The caverns at Bisbee produced some amazing calcite forms and this is certainly one. The old miners could collect interesting pieces, when they saw it, as this was not ore. Ex. Dennis Mullane Bisbee Collection.
12.5 x 10.0 x 1.5 cm. The Mina Ojuela has produced beautiful and striking combination material. Glassy, flattened, colorless calcite rhombs comprise this thin cabinet crust, which is richly and aesthetically included with beautiful, robin’s-egg-blue aurichalcite. Some of the calcite rhombs are included with aurichalcite and some are not, which really adds to the attractiveness of this fine piece. Pieces of this quality came out in the mid-1960s, with none since. Ex. Mullane Collection.
11.5 x 9.2 x 3.4 cm. A sculptural, classic cabinet combination specimen from one of the famous traprock basalt quarries at Paterson, New Jersey. Pearlescent, saddle-shaped heulandite crystals richly fill the showy vug and are nicely accented with radial sprays of snow-white pectolite and small crystals of calcite and apophyllite. Excellent, highly representative older material from the Mullane Collection and comes with an older faded label.
