6.3 x 5.3 x 3.3 cm. These specimens are some of the most unique and attractive Aquas from any locality. Tjhey have become some of the most distinctive and easily recognizable Aquas on the planet. Tabular Aquamarine crystals are rare, but some of the Aquas from Xuebaoding are absolutely superb quality to boot! This particular piece features a very eye-catching, sharp, lustrous, gemmy light blue, unusually tabular crystal of Aquamarine Beryl measuring 2.1 cm sitting atop a crystallized "ball" of bladed, silvery Muscovite crystals. The quality is very good and the main Aquamarine crystal is pretty gemmy, when so many from this locality are essentially opaque. A great quality specimen from this unique locality. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
2.0 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm. When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the modern age of mineral collecting. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Paki Himalayas, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This locality has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine specimens in recent years. This specimen consists of a sharp, lustrous, gemmy, light blue color prismatic crystal with a strange growth line running across the basal pinacoid. It almost appears to be a twin line, but it clearly is not. The piece can be displayed from several angles to boot. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
9.9 x 7.9 x 7.2 cm. This is a superb GEM EMERALD still embedded in matrix, in the pocket in which it formed. The emerald has fine bright grassy green color and is highly gemmy and transparent! It measures one cm both across the termination and in height. You can see some little pyrites around it on the calcite matrix.
14.9 x 7.8 x 7.4 cm. What is most distinguished about this specimen is how this very large, DOUBLY-TERMINATED aquamarine crystal is cupped and showcased by a surrounding shell of sparkly muscovite, This is truly unique - just about every one you see has a crystal or crystals sticking up from the matrix, but not exposed top to bottom like this, with both terminations showing! This was just a lucky anomaly in how this crystal grew. The aquamarine itself is gemmy for the top inch and translucent to transparent through the bottom (it measures a very impressive 10.5 cm)! The faces are very lustrous. There is NO damage or contact on this crystal. A large show-stopper of a specimen that could hold its own in any collection.
12.3 x 4.2 x 3.0 cm. This is a BIG old Brazilian beryl crystal, which was in the Perry Williams collection, and then passed to another collection in 1962 according to the accompanying card. The faces are incredibly sharp, and the crystal is overall in just wonderful condition (a bit of minor edge-wear at the termination is about all there is to mention on this whole crystal). The top 3 cm is gemmy (much gemmier in person than the pic indicates!), with a light blue-green color, and the bottom is milky and translucent. Weighs 347 grams.
7.5 x 4.7 x 4.0 cm. A SHOWY and UNUSUAL cluster of tapered, glassy and lustrous, sea-green aquamarine crystals from an UNCOMMON Brazilian locality - the Mimoso do Sul Mine in Espirito Santo. These are rare and unique. We have posted one other piece like this in the auctions. The termination of the large crystal is broken. These are considered to be a very desirable and uncommon aqua varietal.
4.1 x 1.7 x 0.8 cm. A beautifully etched and gemmy, golden-yellow heliodor crystal. Classic desirable gem material from Volodarsk-Volynskii, Ukraine and from the George Ydren Collection.
2.7 x 2.4 x 2.3 cm. An AESTHETIC and BEAUTIFUL thumbnail cluster of three, very gemmy and lustrous, vibrant blue aquamarine crystals from the Erongo Mountains of Namibia. The terminations are particularly gemmy, typical of better-quality Erongo aquas. Choice material from the Sam Nasser TN Collection.
4.1 x 3.3 x 2.8 cm. A striking specimen of this now familiar combo from the Erongo Mountains. The schorls are highly lustrous and sharp, with a truncated form. The aquas are GEMMY and DOUBLY-TERMINATED (this is in fact a floater specimen).
