9.0 x 4.2 x 3.2 cm. A VERY RICH, bright and showy combination specimen of RARE silicates from the famous Kola Peninsula. Gemmy, cherry-red eudialyte crystals (zirconium silicate) are festooned on a matrix of lustrous, flattened, bronze-yellow atrophyllite blades (titanium silicate). Ex. George Elling Collection.

7.4 x 6.5 x 4.6 cm. A particularly fine and rich astrophyllite specimen from this important locality with lustrous, thick, metallic-foil-like, flat-laying crystals to 2.8 cm embedded in matrix. These bronze-yellow blades have almost a chatoyant look to them. Ex. Elling Collection.

2.5 x 0.7 x 0.2 cm. A lustrous, metallic foil-like, golden-bronze astrophyllite blade from a famous Colorado locality - St. Peters Dome. Astrophyllite is a RARE titanium silicate and this is an LARGE, outstanding, free-standing crystal of the species and locality. Ex. Dick Jones Collection and certainly an older specimen.

10.3 x 8.0 x 6.0 cm. Lustrous, diverging, metallic foil-like, golden-bronze astrophyllite blades are richly and superbly set in cabinet-sized pegmatite matrix from this well-known Colorado locality - St. Peters Dome. Astrophyllite is a rare potassium, sodium, iron, manganese, titanium silicate and these are large, up to 6.0 cm, crystals of the species and for the locality. The collection this came out of was a museum stash dating to prior to World War I.

5.9 x 4.2 x 3.5 cm. Lustrous, parallel-growth, metallic foil-like, golden-bronze astrophyllite blades are richly set in quartz-rich pegmatite matrix from a famous Colorado locality - St. Peters Dome. Astrophyllite is a rare titanium silicate and these are fairly large crystals of the species and for the locality. One face is superbly accented with a lustrous, sharp, 8 mm, brown zircon crystal. This is an excellent old example of this rare material - and with a zircon, as a bonus. This is very rare and hard to come by now.

11.1 x 8.0 x 7.0 cm. A particularly fine cabinet specimen from this important locality on the Kola Peninsula of Russia with starburst-like radiating bundles of thick, brassy, metallic-foil-like, flat-laying crystals to 5.5 cm embedded on three sides of the matrix. Astrophyllite is a relatively uncommon titanium silicate found in nepheline syenites and alkali granites and this is an extremely fine and rich example of the species and locality. Ex. Tarnowski Collection.

This crysatl has incredible lustre and transparency, showing off the internal astrophyllite crystals which are also so bright they look metallic, and shine out starkly from within! A competition level quartz piece for the alps, very rare in such quality!
