MD-76623 - Argentopyrite, Proustite - - Archived
Jáchymov (St Joachimsthal), Jáchymov (St Joachimsthal) District, Krušné Hory Mts (Erzgebirge), Karlovy Vary Region, Bohemia (Böhmen; Boehmen), Czech Republic
miniature, 4.5 x 4.1 x 2 cm
This is an exceedingly rich specimen with good pedigree, containing about the most Argentopyrite you will ever see on one specimen. Argentopyrite is a rare silver species. What is particularly nice about this piece is that the crystallization is so rich it makes for a readily visible cluster of "knobs" so you don't have to look for the usual microcrystal or two. The association with gemmy red proustite crystals is an added bonus! 4.5 x 4.1 x 2 cm
