6.6 x 5.0 x 2.9 cm. Aramayoite is a very rare silver sulfide species containing tin, and bismuth. This is material from the type locality from which it was described in 1926, collected only a few years later in 1929-1930 on the fourth Vaux-family-sponsored mineralogical expedition to South America. This is a rich sample of silver and tin ore which has a vug of pocket crystals and also exposed, flay-laying embedded crystals of aramayoite to 8mm which show metallic, mirror-like faces on the upper-right part of the specimen. Ex. Philadelphia Academy of Sciences Collection.

5.3 x 3.3 x 2.7 cm. Aramayoite is a rare silver, antimony, bismuth sulfosalt and this fine piece hails from the Type Locality - the Animas Mine of Bolivia. A 2.1 cm vug in sulfide matrix is richly lined with iridescent purple and gold aramayoite crystals. The species was discovered in 1926 and this historic old-time piece was collected by Sam Gordon for the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences in 1929-1930 on a field expedition. Ex. MD-76581 - Aramayoite - - Archived Animas Mine, Atocha-Quechisla District, Sud Chichas Province, Potosà Department, Bolivia thumbnail, 2.3 x 1.5 x 1.2 cm
One of the rarest silver minerals that isn't just found in microscopic amounts in polished sections. Usually seen, when seen at all, in very small cleavages. This is an outstanding specimen from the original locality, with much of the specimen consisting of large thick xl plates of aramayoite. Specimens like this, likely found in the 1920s, rarely come on the market. It is, according to Mark, unprecedented in quality since the discovery of the mineral in 1926. It was an abberant crystal that turned up in an old collection purchased by Cal Graeber some years ago. True, it is a crude crystal that fades out at the base, but it has a decent termination and clear faces, and is of rather high import so a few blemishes can be forgiven in that regard. 2.3 x 1.5 x 1.2 cm
