4.7 x 3.3 x 2.7 cm. Sharp, lustrous hausmannite crystals to 2 cm perched in matrix of drusy andradite garnet, make for a fine miniature. Ex. Charlie Key.
1.5 x 1.3 x 1.0 cm. A gorgeous, large, GEM crystal of this rare, sea-green garnet varietal from the well-known Tubussis 22 Farm of Namibia. This pristine gem has textbook dodecahedral crystal faces. Uncommon is this size and quality.
19.0 x 15.0 x 10.5 cm. A whopper garnet specimen COVERED with big, sharp, lustrous crystals - with an incredibly sculptural and 3-dimensional form rather than being a boring flat plate. It stands up perfectly on the bottom contact. There are HUNDREDS of crystals here, measuring to an impressive 2.5 cm across, with a pretty coffee color, with a hint of green, a bit reminiscent of certain sphalerites; the luster is superb, so their faces really flash. Old material once common in the early 90s, now hard to obtain.
8.7 x 2.9 x 1.9 cm. A RICH and SHOWY specimen of gemmy and lustrous, olive-green andradite variety demantoid garnets festooned on starkly contrasting fibrous asbestos from a FAMOUS and classic Italian locality - the Franscia Mine, Malenco Valley. The large, compound crystal at the end is 7 mm. Excellent material from this well-known locality.
11.5 x 8 x 6 cm. This is a most aesthetic and interesting Wessels specimen. The drusy andradite garnet matrix is home to a complex set of gorgeous mirror-like hematite crystals, the largest of which is 3 cm across! These, in turn, support three terrific white translucent-to-gemmy calcite crystals, the largest of which is 3 cm on edge. The Calcites have excellent luster and a very unusual ratcheted form along some of the edges. On top of that, they have a beautiful and amazing gemmy fluorescence. Ex. Charlie Key.
4.4 x 3.5 x 3 cm. A very fine set of super-lustrous partially gemmy Demantoid Garnets. The edges are very sharp, and the little bit of minor bruising is along the back, affecting the presentation side not at all. Perhaps the most amazing thing is that the main crystal is a full 1.9 cm across. An excellent specimen from this locality. Unusually large crystals! Ex. Charlie Key.
9.1 x 7.5 x 3.5 cm. A terrific plate of sharp, complete Andradite Garnets from Stanley Butte. The Andradites, which range up to an impressive 1.9 cm, have superb iridescent luster, excellent well-defined habit, and beautiful bronze color. Ex. Charlie Key.
3.3 x 2.9 x 1.5 cm. From the Bill Larson garnet suite, a deep wine-red andradite garnet that could not be more perfectly displayed, perched on its natural matrix base. At 1.5 cm, it is complete and undamaged, with pretty striations on its faces.
4.9 x 3.1 x 1.5 cm. Splendent black braunite crystals up to 1cm in length are complimented by reddish-orange andradite garnet in this matrix specimen. Ex. Willy Israel Collection.
2.6 x 2.1 x 1.8 cm, 2.3 x 2.1 x 1.9 cm. From Mali, two sharp yellow garnets of textbook form. From a knowledgeable collector: “Ugrandites are a rare intermediate between andradite and grossular." In other words, Mali Garnet.
4.2 x 2.4 x 2.1 cm (largest). From the finds around a year ago in Mali, two clusters of sharp yellow andradite garnets of textbook form.
5.7 x 5.4 x 3.3 cm. This is a rich specimen of jet-black, super-lustrous crystals of melanite garnet. These crystals measure to just under one centimeter.
6.7 x 4.8 x 1.9 cm. A splendid and rich matrix specimen of lustrous chisel-point Braunite crystals that range up to 1 cm in length. Most of the crystals are beautifully striated and well-terminated. The bottom of the specimen is completely coated with Andradite Garnets, and there are many sprinkled on the Braunites, as well. Ex. Charlie Key.
5.3 x 2.8 x 2.7 cm. A sharp and attractive pair of gemmy intergrown Demantoid Garnets. The largest crystal is nearly 1 cm across and both have a very attractive blue-green color. Ex. Charlie Key.
4.4 x 4.4 x 3.8 cm. A very large andradite garnet from a rare locality. It has a contact on the back that does not show from the display face: the display face is super-sharp, with textbook form, not in bad shape for a crystal of this size. Weighs 181 grams. Ex. Bill Larson collection.
