An EXCELLENT and showy CABINET plate covered with lustrous, olive-green andradite crystals to 1.0 cm from Stanley Butte, Arizona. No damage to any of the major crystals, barring minor periphery damage. Large garnet specimen for the locality! Most are smaller in size! 10.1 x 9.5 x 3.6 cm
Mined in the 1970’s, this is a pocket of andradite garnets with platy hematite crystals growing amongst them. An interesting Eastern European association piece of a combo I had not seen before, this was brought out by dealer Ross Lillie (from whom the exact info came) and surely came from a miner''s old private collection. 7.2 x 5.5 x 4.6 cm
A big specimen COVERED with lustrous andradite garnets, of the characteristic olive green of this Arizona locality. The crystals measure to about 0.6 cm. The matrix has a pretty rolling quality to it, which gives the specimen nice form. BETTER IN PERSON because the pics are a bit dark 10.7 x 5.8 x 5.2cm
A plate of sharp, olive-colored andradite garnets from the classic Stanley Butte locality in Arizona. The crystals measure to 0.5 cm - not large, but VERY lustrous and flashy on this specimen! 6.4 x 5.8 x 2.3cm
This odd creature SEEMS to be a single crysatl of another mineral, I know not what, that has been overgrown and deplaced with solid garnet of this rare varietal. These have trickeled out for 3-4 years now, but I have not before seen one like this. Also, the specimens tend to be smaller, mostly thumbnails or small miniature aggregations. this would be one of the larger fine examples of the type. The color is incredibly rich and juicy, like ripe lime skin. The second shot shows a closeup from the side, showing that the termination is thick and fairly euhedral, with clear faces that aren't natural to a garnet but rather look prismatic (perhaps this is after beryl? or quartz?). Fascinating, AND beautiful! 5 x 3.2 x 1.5 cm
ARIZONA garnets! The largest here is just under 2 cm across, a real whopper. These crystals have a pretty golden/olive green appearance. 6.1 x 3.6 x 2.1cm
Big, lustrous, golden-green garnets, to over one centimeter across, tightly intergrown on the matrix. 8.9 x 5.7 x 5.1cm
A cluster of sharp, lustrous, golden-green ARIZONA garnets, to 1.5 cm across. 6.6 x 5.0 x 3.2cm
Unusually good thumbnail example for the locality, of isolated xls on matrix!. 3 x 2 x 2 cm
This is a LARGE curving matrix COVERED with lustrous, olive-green andradite garnet crystals! There is a bit of bruising, but the central area of crystals is in fine shape, and this is really big and rich for an Arizona garnet specimen! 9.8 x 6.5 x 6.2cm
Large garnet crystals from a recent locality 3.1 x 2 x 1.8 cm
A cluster of dark green crystals (darker than the pics show) of ARIZONA garnets, to over 1 cm, very sharp - a fine cluster! 4.8 x 3.2 x 3.1cm
An EXCELLENT and showy specimen richly covered with lustrous and gemmy, olive-green andradite crystals to 1.1 cm on granite matrix from Stanley Butte, Arizona. The largest crystals are very nicely strewn along the crest of the specimen. Only one crystal has minor damage to this very fine piece. 6.2 x 5.6 x 4.3 cm
A very showy and excellent specimen of sharp, low-lustre, brown-black andradite garnet crystals to 1.1cm nicely set on matrix from an UNCOMMON Arizona locality, the Grey Thorn Outcrop in Graham County. Superb Arizona miniature! 4.8 x 3.7 x 2.2 cm
This is clearly one of the great Italian Alpine classics ! Demantoids from Val Malenco (the Malenco Valley) are some of the most prized Alpine Garnet specimens in the world. This specimen features several, sharp, lustrous, rich green color dodecahedra which measure up to 5 mm on Serpentinite matrix. These specimens are very difficult to obtain in todays market. 4.4 x 3.7 x 3.4cm
