4.1 x 3.8 x 2.5 cm. Two beautiful orange iron-containing minerals, both very rare, richly presented on one specimen! The first close-up photo shows sharp, flat-laying, acicular crystals of Amarantite in sprays to perhaps 5mm. In person, these crystals have a robust, electric orange-red flare to them and are quite eye-visible. Mixed in (second close-up photo) are small tufts or ball-shaped clusters of microcrystalline Hohmannite, altering to lighter brown metahohmannite. Associated minerals are Metahohmannite, Kornelite , Chalcanthite, Copiapite, and Picromerite, I am told.

This specimen has sprays of the amarantite needles all over its lower and left periphery, and is really quite dramatic in person. The backside has more Hohmannite, some altering to lighter brown metahohmannite.
