Beautifully opposing, gemmy and lustrous, cranberry-red liddicoatite crystals to 2.4 cm aesthetically perched on albite and quartz from Mt. Ibity, Madagascar. 4.1 x 3.3 x 2.8 cm
A GORGEOUS, GEM, 2.2 cm, light sherry-colored topaz crystal with a very complex termination jauntily projecting from a matrix of transparent quartz crystals and bladed, white cleavelandite from the Shigar Valley of Pakistan. Ex Marty Lewadny Collection. 4.0 x 3.8 x 3.5 cm
A SUPERB and PRISTINE Cruzeiro Mine bi-colored tourmaline with albite toenail. The very gemmy and lustrous, green tourmaline has an exquisite cranberry-red termination. The flanking albite at the base really sets off this aesthetic, old-time piece. 3.4 x 2.8 x 2.2 cm
A rare and unusually aesthetic Italian albite cluster, a fine thumber for this material, appearing almost reticulated like a Tsumeb cerrusite due to the parallel growth patterns. 2.4 x 1.7 x 1.1 cm
A GORGEOUS, gemmy, lustrous and pristine, watermelon tourmaline nicely complimented by lustrous, bladed cleavelandite from the famous Pederneira Mine. The lower core is dark cranberry-red, with the rest of the crystal a beautiful, gemmy green. Scattered purple lepidolites add pazzazz. A MOST UNUSUAL and SHOWY Brazilian specimen of a sharp, lustrous, 1.6 cm, purple apatite crystal nicely perched on white albite AND a bi-colored, terminated tourmaline crystal. The undamaged, matte-finish, green termination of the tourmaline, which is adjacent to the apatite crystal, grades downward into a nice lilac or lavender color. The side faces of the tourmaline are contacted. This is a fine combination piece and the trivial edge bruise on the apatite is barely noticeable. 4.5 x 3.3 x 3.0 cm
One of the few matrix blue topaz specimens I have sene ever, and especially from this lot. We have here a 2.4 cm (one inch), EXCEEDINGLY GEMMY AND TRANSPARENT, sharp, complete gem crystal just sticking straight up from matrix like it was glued on there. It wasn't...The crystal is complete all around 360 and beautiful from any angle! 8.1 x 7.2 x 4.2 cm
This is an excellent combo specimen that well represents the upper end of material from Pakistan, from this classic occurence. Three transparent, lustrous, champagne-colored crystals of topaz to 2.5 cm in length are aesthetically perched on and in snow white, lustrous, bladed albite. There are even a few, terminated, lustrous, beige muscovite crystals, to 2.0 cm across, strategically located on the display side. Very Nice! And, for the price, I think you get a lot of flash and gemminess for the buck! 9.5 x 7.1 x 6.1 cm

This is a huge aqua for the price, with intense blue color an unusually dark hue for Shigar aquamarine. It weighs i nat a hefty 1245 grams or almost 3 pounds in weight. The piece displays beautifully, and is very gemmy in teh top portion. The opacity of the lower half contributes to the deepness of color, and is actually a good thing in this case. The whole huge crystal has just one teeny little, inconsequential ding on one side edge, that you cannot see but can only feel by touch. It is basically pristine, and is definitely unrepaired - remarkable for a crystal of such size. 17.2 x 8.8 x 7.0 cm
A good pink elbaite attractive combination piece featuring a 9 x 3.75 x 3 cm crystal perched dramatically next to a slightly smoky quartz, with both showing free-standing terminations unencumbered of the other. The smoky has a slight chip out of the back, but is otherwise complete all around! The tourmaline is pristine except at its junction to the quartz in the lower half on one side. 17.6 x 10.8 x 8.1 cm
The translucent, blue-to-purple termination splits off into many little terminations, with lepidolite nestled between the points!. The indicolite itself grows out of a giant schorl body, which seems to be dark and is probably in reality a very dense indicolite. The termination is accented by the flanking cleavelandite blades, the purplish lepidolite, and the presence of a large quartz crystal which is intergrown with the tourmaline. 12.3 x 10.6 x 9.5 cm

Kosnarite is a recently identified new phosphate species named after Richard Kosnar (now deceased). This piece has sharp, lustrous crystals to 3 mm perched nicely on albite matrix, make this a very good piece for the find (from about 2003). I recall that Luiz Menezes had the best of these at Tucson that year and I saw Marty walking out of the room with this specimen i nhis hand, as I was walking into that hotel show. It wasn't the most expensive or the largest, but I recall thinking this was probably the most aesthetic of the lot, given crystal quality and the isolation on contrasting albite. The appraisal price in the collection was $950, but I have priced it closer to the original number back then, to be fair.

One of the larger clean plates of the new phosphate species, kosnarite, which came out a few years ago. Just covered with bright, lustrous crystals!
This specimen brings together two of the rarer members of a complex pegmatite association of minerals. A navy blue crystal core of elbaite var, indicolite morphed into a city scape of pastel blue, translucent, pyramidal, terminations. Flanking the indicolite is an acicular spray of snow white albite and a complex crystal of very lustrous, golden-brown, stibiotantalite that even emits red highlights, The indicolite measures 3.0 cm in length and the stibiotantalite is 2.5 cm across. This is truly, a fine and rare combo specimen.
