9.8 x 7.4 x 2.6 cm. We had one of these strange Mapimi adamites in the last set of auctions - strange in that instead of having the usual whorls or wheels, or small prismatic crystals, what you have are these "melted"-looking, intensely lustrous little round clusters that are actually translucent through their surface when looked at through a loupe.

6.4 x 4.4 x 2.6 cm. A MAJOR specimen, this is a nearly solid plate of thick adamite crystals, colored a uniform green by copper content. Such rich, heavy, large specimens are few, and pretty ones even fewer. Ex. Charlie Key stock.

10.6 x 7.4 x 7.4 cm. An intact POCKET of lustrous, sparkly crystals of adamite, intergrown with clear hemimorphites that add an intense brightness. The matrix is the typical iron-rich limonite, and provides a pretty contrast. Normally, you see adamites of this form as rather plates or parts of pockets, or deposited on a rather nebulous matrix, so it is unusual and quite aesthetic to see an actual pocket such as this, removed intact.

Adamite (Var: Cuprian Adamite) from Fengjiashan Mine (Daye Copper mine), Edong Mining District, Daye Co., Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China [db_pics/mdpics/MD-142320a.jpg]

1.9 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm. A very small adamite specimen, yes, but this is NOT from Mexico - it is a rare one from the Daye Mine in China! And yet, it has a structure, color and even limonitic matrix that are extremely similar to the Mina Ojuela ones. At any rate - a very uncommon specimen for a collector of unusual thumbnails!

11.9 x 10.5 x 6.4 cm. This LARGE specimen is a shallow pocket of limonite that is richly filled with gorgeous, highly sparkly crystals of adamite of a pastel green hue! Classic 1980s and 1970s material!

7.0 x 5.4 x 4.1 cm. Purple adamite is a Holy Grail mineral species from the famous Ojuela Mine, along with legrandite and scorodite. This AESTHETIC specimen features a 5.7 cm, slash-like vug filled with gemmy and lustrous purple adamite crystals in a very dense gossan matrix. Classic and very fine material from this 1981, one-time find. Ex. Stimson Collection.

9.3 x 7.4 x 4.8 cm. From the premier adamite locality, two pockets of gemmy, lustrous crystals of adamite side by side in a matrix of limonite. A very thin ridge separated the two pockets in which these fine and pretty crystals formed.

5.8 x 5.4 x 0.9 cm. This specimen is from a batch of extremely unusual adamites we got. The back of this group of adamite balls shows it to have been attached to the usual limonite, but as a flat contact which allowed it to be removed completely from the matrix to leave this lacework of crystal spheres. Pretty!

6.9 x 5.3 x 1.3 cm. Another from the small batch of bizarre Mapimi adamites we acquired that are basically a crust of these beautiful sparkly pea-green crystal spheres that formed on limonite, with a thin layer of the limonite visible on back.

5.0 x 4.5 x 2.1 cm. An EXCELLENT and SHOWY Mina Ojuela specimen of very gemmy and lustrous, nearly colorless adamite crystals richly covering gossan matrix. This variety of Mina Ojuela adamite is UNCOMMON and this is a choice piece from the Marty Zinn Collection, #2773.

5.8 x 4.2 x 3.1 cm. A RARE, UNUSUAL and SHOWY Tsumeb combination specimen of glassy, pink, cobaltoan smithsonite crystals filling a well-placed vug lined by superbly contrasting green cuprian adamite crystals and surrounded by a mass of the same! I have never seen such a combination from Tsumeb. The back shows the cuprian adamite veins. The color contrast is startling. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.

5.4 x 4.9 x 4.9 cm. This is the more uncommon form of adamite from Mapimi: gemmy, yellow-green, distinct crystals rather than the more common green whorls and balls. This is part of a pocket lined with these flashy crystals, with some accenting quartz.
