ex. Ron Pellar
A sharp, aesthetic cluster with tips colored lavender-purple by manganese, from the famous finds of the early 1980s here. Ex. Ron Pellar collection (he was most known for his adamite suite assembled over some 40 years). Joe Budd photos.

Adamite from this mine, while once common, is today very rare in good specimens, particularly of larger sizes. This is a bizarre style and the largest such example of it that i have seen, that looks like a green caterpillar crawled into a vug in the rock and curled up to sleep. The adamite, which usually shows minute crystal faces on the surface of radial clusters, here shows as a very round, relatively smooth ball with only the slightest of raised faces making up the surface. It is elegantly nestled in the well-trimmed, gossan matrix. Although unusual in style, I find this piece to be very visually appealing and to stand out, for its odd form, in a case. Ex Martin Zinn collection (from his first collection, which was sold off in 2003). Joe Budd photos.

Sparkling, dramatic, freestanding light limey-green, spherical aggregates of adamite really stand out on this 3-dimensional specimen. The largest sphere is 4 cm across. This specimen allows the viewer to discern the individual crystals that make up the spheres, rare for adamite pinwheels of this size. The luster, color, and form all contrast against the matrix, combining to make this specimen a superior and beautiful adamite. As a bonus, it fluoresces an intense neon-green color. From early 1980s finds, few of this size and quality survive and come to market now. Joe Budd photos.

Superb specimen of light mint-green Cuprian Adamite crystals, up to about 1 cm in size. Several dozen of these lustrous, gemmy-to-translucent crystals line the limonite vug. The crystals are unusually GLASSY : They are brilliant, reflective, and super-sharp. It is highly fluorescent as well. A very fine, high quality piece from the famous Ojuela Mine, from finds of the mid-2000's. Gorgeous color is distinct from older material, and this style is seldome seen except for a few special pockets.

A single isolated, fat pinwheel of adamite, just over 1 cm, on contrasting limonitic matrix. Rare locality specimen, self-collected by Bart Cannon in the 1960s or 70s.

Choice, complete pinwheel of the beautiful yellow Adamite from the famous Ojuela mine in Mexico, sitting perfectly on matrix. The gemmy crystals in this radial growth have excellent luster and color, and the pinwheel itself is 1.4 cm across. Excellent bright yellow fluorescence. Distinct and aesthetic thumbnail specimen , and vintage oldstyle material from the 1970s-1980s

Outstanding, complete heart-shaped pinwheel of beautiful yellow Adamite from the famous Ojuela mine in Mexico, sitting perfectly on matrix. The gemmy crystals in this radial growth have excellent luster and color, and the pinwheel itself is an incredible 2.7 cm across. Excellent bright yellow fluorescence. Very aesthetic.

Aesthetic, and very unusual, pair of pinwheels that intersect each other, very much like a pair of colliding galaxies. The largest radial cluster is a full 2 cm across, lustrous, and has a lovely lemon-yellow color. There is even a cluster of individual, extremely gemmy crystals (more Adamite!) attached to the side. The smaller, partial pinwheel rises up from the main cluster, and it's angle and form make it look like a streamer. The pair complement each other and display beautifully. Bright yellow fluorescence is a bonus. This is classic older material from the 1970s heyday here, and is from the Sam Nasser thumbnail collection. It is an outstanding, unusual piece, much better in person. Very aesthetic - a great toenail sized specimen (either a large thumbnail or a small miniature depending on how you angle it for display) ex Sam Nasser collection

Attractive grouping of four radial fan-sprays, each composed of of gemmy, lemony-yellow Adamite crystals. The largest of these clusters is about 1.6 cm across. Bright yellow fluorescence. A good specimen from a world-famous locality with exceptional sparkle and color
This is a unique specimen, featuring a 3-dimensional,complete-all-around cluster of thick adamite crystals perched atop a ridge of rolling gossan matrix. It is complete ALL AROUND, front, back, and sides. This is one of the largest clusters of crystallized adamite, in fact, that I am aware of. As an added bonus, to the aesthetics of the piece, you can see that many of the tips of the otherwise normal (but large) adamite crystals have altered to the rare purple manganoan variety. The combination is extremely rare, and to catch this in process even more so. A stunning specimen I vividly recall from the time when the Barlow collection was dispersed in 1998. There are other adamites out there, but few which stand out like this. Comes with custom base. 9.1 x 6.0 x 5.5 cm
8.9 x 5.4 x 3.2 cm. A striking specimen of the very desirable blue-green cuprian (copper-rich) variety of adamite from Mina Ojuela, with good-sized, distinct crystals filling a shallow pocket in a matrix of limonite. The crystals measure to about 0.5 cm. This fine specimen came out of the collection of Evan Jones, and was in the Eugene Sensel collection prior to that (comes with these labels). These adamites are far rarer than the more familiar green ones from Mapimi with crystals in a wheel or "whorl" form.
9.2 x 6.8 x 2.2 cm. A pretty plate of sparkling, light grassy-green crystals of adamite on limonite matrix - classic from the Ojuela Mine.
3.4 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm. Delightful specimen of the purple Adamites first discovered in 1981 and now one of the holy grails of mineral collecting, not equaled since. These crystals range from about 2-3 mm at the maximum: small, but they do have excellent color and luster. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
4.2 x 3.4 x 2.3 cm. Lustrous green cuprian adamite crystals to 7 mm RICHLY cover matrix on this excellent specimen from Tsumeb. A very desirable Tsumeb species, hard to find in good pieces. Ex Ed Ruggiero Collection, who purchased this piece from Zweibels in June, 1976. Such sharply crystallized cuprian adamites are uncommon and occur only at this mine, in this habit..
