A Large and colourful specimen with an unusual combination: bright yellow Uranophane crystals are filling a large vug of green Cuprosklodowskite crystals. Very interesting about this piece is that the Cuprosklodowskite crystals are partially imbedded in the Uranophane crystals and on some crystals, the green Cupro is passing THROUGH the terminations of the Uranophane crystals. Thus, this is not pseudomorphing, but growth together in the same pocket! At a close look, one can observe that many of the Cupro crystals are terminated, which is not often seen. This piece was recovered during the removal of the U-dump in the early 90ís. Musonoi has ceased producing minerals since then.

A colorful, rich, highly representative specimen of the classic Schoepite pseudomorph after Rutherfordine from the famous Musonoi mine. It consists of very small ( 1 mm ) crystal clusters of a canary yellow colour. This specimen was recovered during the removal of the U-dump in the early 90ís. Musonoi has ceased producing minerals since then. Not a top specimen perhaps, but at a reasonable price.

Very interesting combo specimen with Metatyuyamunite crystals gathered together in sheafs up to 3 mm associated with very small Carnotite flakes. The Carnotite is of a paler yellow than the Metatyuyamunite and not well crystallised. The minerals sitting on a bed of Malachite. The Malachite sits in turn on Heterogenite covering Quartz crystals. Carnotite and Metatyuyamunite were rare minerals at Mashamba and the specimens where recovered in the mid 80ís. Fantastic under the scope! As the Mashamba mine is flooded and most probably exhausted, no specimens will perhaps never reach the market again.

Interesting combo specimen which hosts two very rare selenites, Demesmaekerite and yellow Guilleminite. The Guilleminite is micro crystalline but the Demesmaekerite is present in well formed crystals: Some are free standing and reaching 1 mm. The combination is almost unheard of. The matrix is composed of Malachite and Selenium-rich Digenite. This mineral is the source of the selenites in Musonoi. This specimen was recovered during the removal of the U-dump in the early 90ís. Musonoi has ceased producing minerals since then. NOTE THAT Musonoi is the TYPE LOCALITY for BOTH species.

A MAJOR piece for African radioactives! Very large and colourful specimen from the famous Shinkolobwe mine. The yellow mineral used to be called Ianthinite but since the discovery in the 50ís has turned into Epiianthinite; who is, in fact, now realized to be the same species as previously known Schoepite. It is a sort of pseudomorph because the crystal habit of the Ianthinite can still be seen (the change occurred after the specimen was recovered, postmining). Associated is also a 10 mm large cluster of red Curite crystals nicely nestled in the yellow Epiianthinite. It is beautiful! A very heavy specimen due to the matrix consisting of pure Uraninite. Shinkolobwe is the Type Locality for the Schoepite and the Curite, a mine closed since decades. This is thus a very important, large, and displayable specimen for all of the associations and the rich ore matrix as well. In fact, it is a huge piece with such fantastic colour combo that it used to be on display at the Carnegie Museum, just because of the gorgeous colour mix. This specimen was removed from the display in the early 90's because it was considered "too hot" and sold to now-deceased dealer Gilbert Gauthier, who charged quite well for it when he took it back to Europe. Before it went to Carnegie, it came from the famous dealer Dr. F. Krantz, in Bonn (the price in the 1970s was already 1700 German marks, quite expensive at the time, and indicative of the import placed on the piece). Krantz and Carnegie labels come with, so the full history is preserved. (Type Locality for BOTH species )

A Small but extremely rich specimen of Uraninite covered with powdery, microcrystalline yellow Uranophane. On the Uranophane one can see a few straw yellow Studtite crystal clusters up to 4 mm in size. Shinkolobwe is the Type Locality for Studtite, a mine closed since decades. Valid , photogenic studtites are NOT common and so this is an extremely rare chance to own one for a good price range, that is something visibly interesting.

This is a fantastic specimen of Cuprosklodowskite with Vandenbrandeite from the Type Locality for BOTH species. The very good Cuprosklodowskite crystals are very large for the locality. The Vandenbrandeite builds sheaves to 8 mm, what is also huge for the locality. Vaes discovered these minerals in the early 1930ís in this remote area of Katanga. Kalongwe is located 60 km south of Kolwezi and was not very well accessible in that time because it lies in full jungle. This is why the deposit has never been mined, and will probably never be, so very few specimens reached the collectors. Outstanding and rich locality piece. Take advantage of this offer because nothing is coming out of Katanga anymore since more than 15 years, except for Malachite and Chrysocolla. And almsot nobody can provide a valid Kalongwe piece except those who dealt with the original exploration geologists and their collections.

This is a puzzle! It is a Great combo piece containing 5 minerals. The most surprisingly spectacular are the blood red Wulfenite crystals in a prismatic habit, up to 1 mm in size sitting on a carpet of green velvet Malachite. Wulfenite is rare in Katanga (only 2 valid localities for this huge province) and in Musonoi they are at their best. They are associated with well terminated and bright yellow Kasolite crystals reaching 2 mm in size. Some are showing phantom growth. Also present are green, transparent platy Torbernite crystals reaching 4 mm on edge. The edges of the Torbernite are worth a closer look - some of them are the matrix for very small Guilleminite crystal clusters. Fantastic under the scope, you can look for hours to all what is hiding on this specimen. This specimen was recovered during the removal of the U-dump in the early 90ís. Musonoi has ceased producing minerals since then. Musonoi is the Type Locality for Guilleminite. One of the best pieces in this update is a very fine example of this very rare selenite from its type and best lcoality! An unusually rich specimen of Carnotite crystals up to 1 mm on a bed of blue Chrysocolla. Carnotite is a rare mineral at Mashamba and the specimens where recovered in the mid 80ís. Crystallized carnotite is rare from any locality, and the aesthetics of this piece are particularly nice. Superb under a scope, too!

Although this is "just" a Small specimen of Uraninite it is well covered with Studtite sprays up to 3 mm on a bed of Uranophane with orange Fourmarierite. The contrast is amazing and helps to make this a significant, photogenic, Studtite specimen among the best youc an obtain. Fourmarierite is best known as red pseudo hexagonal crystals but also as orange needles or "grains". On this specimen it is seen as this orange form which is much rarer but mostly overseen or taken for Curite and thus mislabelled if ever it wsa found in some collections. Shinkolobwe is the Type Locality for the Studtite and the Fourmarierite, a mine closed since decades. This superb combo specimen is a chance to own each, in beautiful mix, at one stroke. We think there are few such validated specimens of these rare species out there, of quality, let alone on the same specimen.
