A thick hemispherical fluorite, with great color. It is a little wobbly at the edges, but tha tis natural contact, not damage.
A translucent plate of unusual quality in terms of both its aesthetic horizon at the top, and the translucency of the fluorite itself. Most larger "bubbles" are thickert, and so transmit little light through the core. This one, however, has formed thinly to start with with the bubble rising only so much from teh crust as to make it look spherical when in fact it is hemispherical. For my tastes, this is one of the best specimens of this material I have seen come out in a trickle since they first appeared at Munich 2006. I have seen several hundred specimens now, at all kinds of price points both direct at the mines and from resellers, and in the end I did find a source in China to buy them directly - this is still among the best I could obtain. It is pristine, beautiful, an djust plain unusual material!
A literally glowing stalactite that backlights incredibly in person with the most intense color, and deep hue, around the edges. It is a 3-dimensional , complete-all-around stalactite that is unique in my lot, and overall my favorite piece of this size range. The higher price compared to others is because it is so 3-D, complete all around, and dramatic. In person, its much better than the pics indicate, as well.
A GORGEOUS, translucent, 2-cm fluorite ball on a natural stalk! Complete all around save one slightly indented contact/constrained growth area on the upper-left side. Most of these were BIG, and I have gotten only a few thumbnail sized examples.
Beautiful cluster snaking across matrix, 2.5 cm across on the "head" to the left. This fluorite has a slight coating of secondary fluorite or quartz which gives it a slight sparkle., compared to others.
A gorgeous specimen with the most intense color, and organic-looking aesthetics. It is complete on the display face, contacted only at the edges to the sides - the top ball is complete around to teh matrix in back.
A beautiful thick hemisphere that glows when backlit, not quite completely formed but contacted, not damaged, at the edges.
A thick hemispherical fluorite, with great color. It is a little wobbly at the edges, but tha tis natural contact, not damage.
One of the more dramatic specimens, I call the "mushroom" for its appearance: a complete-all-around purple cap perched on matrix. GORGEOUS translucent color when backlit, like grape juice! For whatever reasons, this piece transmits light more clearly than others and so has a richer intensity, and is probably the better for carving rough as well. But if you cut it, I won't sell it to you! The piece is complete on 3 sides, if contacted on the lower periphery.
A GORGEOUS, translucent, 2.2-cm fluorite ball on amtrix! Complete all around so I could not imagine a better thumbnail example of this new style for botryoidal purple fluorite. Most of these were BIG, and I have gotten only a few thumbnail sized examples.
This piece may be destined for carving rough, its so beautiful and thick! The "ball" is complete through about 120 degrees , though it gives the illusion of a sphereeical form as you can see, when stood upright
