Witherite
Pigeon Roost Mine, Montgomery County, Arkansas, USA
Miniature, 4.0 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm
SOLD
Because of their deviation, in form, from the standard witherites, these from the Pigeon Roost Mine have always had sort of a cult following (especially among Texas collectors who know their rarity!). Several, bladed, bicolored crystals are intergrown in an aesthetic manner here, making for a nice miniature. The 4 cm crystals are lustrous and, at the terminations, get very gemmy. Old material from the late 1970s!
